Award nominations are submitted by clients, and winners are voted for by XBIZ staff, industry colleagues, and participating organizations. Originally, the awards recognized achievements in the online adult industry, but video categories have been added in recent years. As of 2014, the number of specific award categories had expanded to include over 150.
