Cops are making it clear- fuck a horse and you’re in trouble.
Ohio- Two more women have stepped forward to assist in the investigation into a local prostitution ring, and both women have told authorities that they have engaged in prostitution, Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said Tuesday.
This is in addition to four other women who also are cooperating in the ongoing investigation.
As a result of the investigation, about 700 videotapes were collected from the residence of William T. Reed, 46, of 600 Bramblewood Heights Road, Marietta, on Oct. 14, during a search of his home. The sheriff’s office determined more than 300 of those confiscated videos contain hard-core pornographic footage, including sexual acts between women and animals.
The investigation into the prostitution and pornography came to light Saturday when Reed was arrested on a probation violation. Reed, who could not be contacted, has not been charged in connection with the prostitution and pornography probes. He was released from jail after posting bond.
In addition to bestiality, another concern sparked from the videos’ images is cruelty to women. In some of the scenes, large sex toys are inflicting “obvious pain” to the woman, officials said. It appeared the women were taking narcotic pain medication to endure the acts, Mincks said.
The videos were being sold via the Internet using the site www.sickvids.com, a site operated from the Bramblewood Heights location but that has since been shut down, officials said.
The remaining 400 videos are being analyzed, and could contain pornographic images. The analysis consists of viewing them.
Most of the tapes appear to be made outside of the United States, but some could have been made locally.
“It takes awhile to put a case like this together,” Mincks said. “We are moving as rapidly as we can.”
It could be February before the analysis is completed, the sheriff said. At that time, charges will be put forth for grand jury consideration.
“We feel it has now been exposed,” said Mincks. “The prostitution has ceased and the video sales have ceased.”
Some other individuals have come forward with information about who may have purchased pornographic films depicting the sex acts, he said.
Using this information combined with receipts, business records and bank statements obtained from the search, the department is attempting to contact individuals who purchased videos to potentially testify.
It is not a crime to purchase such videos. But the sale is a fifth degree felony for each transaction.
While being questioned by detectives, Reed admitted grossing in excess of $23,000 per year during the past few years. Mincks estimates the tapes have made approximately $174,000 in business sales at $20 per tape.
Some buyers may have purchased more than one tape.
Reed’s address is listed in the phone book as “Reed Construction,” but there was no answer Sunday, Monday or Tuesday; there was also no answer at the door at the place of residence Tuesday afternoon.
The investigation began in early October when an informant told the office about a prostitution ring that utilized the Internet to connect women and customers at local motels.
According to an affidavit for the search warrant, such online Yahoo! groups as “Marietta Desires,” “Ohio Valley Escorts” and “Parkersburg Fantasies” were used to set up communications.
