WWW – Former Playboy’s Miss May 1996 and former wife of Lorenzo Lamas Shauna Sand is suing VH1 and the producers of the TV show “Hopelessly Rich” for falsely insinuating that she had an intimate relationship with a man pretending to a member of the wealthy Hearst family.

Viewers of the TV show “Hopelessly Rich” saw Sand getting cozy last summer with what appeared to be a member of American royalty. The show told us the man was George Hearst, and portrayed him as the “n’er do-well,” great grandson of legendary publisher William Randolph Hearst.

However, in Sand’s major defamation lawsuit against the producers of the show and VH-1, she claims she never agreed to be on the show and refused to sign releases. However, her major claim is that the show, “Led the reasonable viewer of the program to falsely believe and conclude that Shauna Sand and George Hearst had an intimate and romantic relationship and/or had consensual sexual relations.”

Sand’s attorneys tells us the timing of the show was particularly damaging because Sand has three children and was going through a bitter divorce with Lorenzo Lamas at the time.

But the story doesn’t end here. “CJ” has obtained a lawsuit filed by George Randolph Hearst III, in which he says the man on the show claiming to be him is actually an imposter.

Hearst claims the man is really someone named George Pilgrim, and says he’s neither rich nor a Hearst. In his lawsuit, Hearst is demanding $7.5 million in damages.

Hearst claims the show is filled with lies. For example, he says, “George Hearst does not spend his money unwisely or have a pathological sexual interest in blondes.” In a recent interview, Hearst said, “You spend decades building on a reputation and then something as irresponsible as this can wipe you out in a moment.”

Hearst and Sand are taking the producers of “Hopelessly Rich” to court, saying the show damaged their reputations.
