Allentown, Pa- from www.mcall.com – A 41-year-old man faces charges after police said he brandished a knife at a strip club early Sunday and then flooded a toilet and urinated throughout a Wilson police holding cell.
Rodney Rupell, who has addresses in Bethlehem and Wilson, is charged with disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness. He was committed to Northampton County Prison under $5,000 bail.
According to court records:
Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Wilson police were called to C.R. Fanny’s Gentlemen’s Club and Sports Bar, 1600 Butler St., for a man who had brandished a knife.
Darren Lorenz, no age or address provided, told police a man, later identified as Rupell, was at the bar and pulled a knife on him and then ran away.
Police later spotted Rupell, who matched the suspect’s description, along Wood Avenue.
Rupell was placed in a holding cell at the Wilson police station. He took off his clothes, put them in the toilet and repeatedly flushed it, flooding his cell. Rupell also urinated throughout the holding cell.
According to court records, Rupell is wanted on a retail theft charge from February 2003, when police charged him with smashing the window of a Bethlehem shop at 311 W. Broad St. and stealing a Jerry Garcia doll, a Tiki statue and a lamp.
