LAS VEGAS – “Debbie Does Dallas,” the first in a line of comics based on adult classics made its official debut at the 2008 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
The book is co-produced by Arrow Productions, www.xxxdeepthroat.com in association with Terminal Press. The Limited Edition Comic coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the classic adult movie.
In the book, Debbie finds herself stranded and under the threat of nuclear decimation in the days leading up to the apocalypse. As one of very few survivors left, she battles her way through hordes of the living dead, aided only by an abandoned military exoskeleton and the will to make it out of Dallas, Texas alive.
“The creative team was given the opportunity to actually get creative with this title, which isn’t the norm when you’re working on a license” says writer and Terminal Press founder Brian Ferrara. “They just let us go crazy and I think that paid off. It’s not what people are going to be expecting”
“When I started talking to Terminal Press about licensing our Icons for comic books we agreed to do something completely different and insane,” said Arrow marketing director Robert Interlandi.
“After reading the script and seeing the artwork this book is totally amazing! The only hang up is if we were to ever shoot this project we are looking at over a $100 million dollar budget. However, the coolest thing about comic books is that you can draw anything you could ever imagine.”
“Debbie Does Dallas” is illustrated by Russ Manning nominee Rolo Ledesma, written by Brian Ferrara, with Colors by Narek Gevorgian and Color Separation by Joe Frazzetta and Keith McCleary.
This will be the first of Terminal Press’s collaborations with Arrow Productions. Future titles will feature reinterpretations of classics like “Deep Throat,” “Candy Stripers”,“Tell Them Johnny Wadd Was Here ” and several others.
The comic was being offered in a special, numbered limited edition at AEE. Arrow also plans to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the X-rated classic The Devil in Miss Jones with promotions it’s keeping under the hat right now.
