go back far enough to remember a time when the former Mr. Jenna Jameson Brad Armstrong was the love toy of Erica Boyer, and both showed up at the VSDA show one summer in Las Vegas wearing his and her Conan outfits.
Then again, KSEX hostess Keri Windsor, who’s going to be 30 in December, isn’t as old as I am and couldn’t have known to ask the obvious questions. Windsor did have the Wicked Pictures director on as a guest, but I only heard romantic history that went back as far as Dyanna Dyanna Lauren sans any mention of Jenna. By Armstrong’s count he’s been in the business about 12 years. “I started off as talent,” he said, “And a couple of years in I was doing so many bad, bad movies I thought there’s got to be a better way to do this. So I struck out on my own.”
Asked what constitutes a “bad” movie, Armstrong said, “One of those ones where you’re there with a bunch of friends for the weekend and you pull out your movies, you’re really embarrassed to show them that one.” Originally from Canada, Armstrong sold his home, took some of the money and financed his first movie with Dyanna Lauren. “We were a couple back then,” he recalls. Armstrong said Wicked gave him a shot and he’s been with them ever since. Windsor noted that Armstrong’s movies are noted particularly for their production values.
“I’m a very visual guy so that’s what turns me on.” Among his movies, Armstrong said his favorite was probably Dream Quest. “That’s very visual.” Armstrong said he tends to fast-forward through the sex to enjoy the dialogue. “That’s one of those weird things.” Windsor said the behind-the-scenes for Dream Quest is practically a movie all of its own. “I was very impressed with that. It was like a nine-day shoot.” Armstrong said maybe six, conceding that extra time was needed to re-shoot some scenes. “That was film so we had a couple of problems, film-wise. And a couple of problems talent-wise.”
Windsor remembered a dwarf in the film. “That was Napoleon,” said Armstrong. “He’s done a fair number of porns. We had him all made up in prosthetics so you can’t really tell it’s him.” Armstrong said Euphoria has probably been his most successful movie. “It won something like 13 awards at AVN two years ago. And it’s won a multiple of other outside awards- XRCO and a bunch of other ones. That was probably my most best-received movies.” Windsor heard a story of a set collapsing on Euphoria. Armstrong conceded that it was probably one of the most plagued films he’s ever worked on. “We had all kinds of drama and drama on the set of that. We had light grids falling from the sky narrowly missing people- just a host of pretty traumatic things.” Armstrong said the issue was dealt with in the behind-the-scenes feature. “I try to block it out of my head, now.”
On Wicked Sex Party 5, Armstrong said a light was placed too close to the sprinklers and the sprinkler system flooded the $5 million mansion. “We’re in two inches of water. It was brutal. There’s 20 nude people looking up into the sky at this rain cloud.” The owner showed up about 15 minutes later very traumatized, according to Armstrong. “Crew was great; talent was great. Everyone just hung tight. Lucky for us it was marble flooring so we squeegeed it all out.” Armstrong said the Wicked Sex Parties have been selling really big. “We just finished six which is a big bondage kind of party. I jump into that a little bit.” Armstrong said in those instances where he’s shooting large numbers of people and actors have a tendency to fade, he’ll jump in to add another guy. “You’re such a team player,” Windsor laughed.
Armstrong appeared in Falling From Grace- about priest who comes to terms with an old lover [Sydnee Steele] who’s back in his life. “He’s become a priest since she’s gone,” Armstrong explained. “As we wrote the movie the part kept getting better and better. I was going to have Randy Spears do it. But I said I’m going to be greedy and take this one.” Armstrong subsequently won Best Actor for the role with Spears playing the part of his best friend.
Asked if he was dating anyone, Armstrong said he just broke up with a girl two months ago. “I’m totally playing the field right now. I’ve been in a relationship for a year and change. And probably two years before that one. I’m just kind of hanging loose.”
Windsor brought up a time when Armstrong came to her house for a party. “Little Scotty Schwartz thought he’d sing a song with you in mind.” Armstrong told Windsor if she had that on tape he’d kill her. “This show’s over right now.” Windsor said the point of the song was that Armstrong dates a lot of Wicked girls. “Put it this way,” he answered. “Either I date them when they are Wicked girls. Or whether they become Wicked girls after the fact, I like to keep it in the family.”
Armstrong’s of the opinion that if you date a girl you’re working with it builds a common goal. “When you’ve got a contract girl especially one you’re dating, she’s seeing the pain and suffering you’re going through writing and producing it and when people cancel, so she definitely has a built-in expectation what that movie’s going to be like. So it kind of works out good.”
Armstrong sees himself settling down when he’s about 50 which gives him a couple more birthdays to go, he said vaguely. “I don’t want to say because that really throws off the 22 year-old girls that I date.”
Windsor also brought up the time when she called Armstrong to invite him to a party, Armstrong having auto-answer on his phone. Windsor said the phone rang and she could hear a woman moaning in the background, “Put it in my ass!” Windsor said she could also hear another girl giggling along with a bed creaking. Windsor felt like she had called a $3.99 a minute sex line. Windsor said Armstrong subsequently brought the girls to the party.
