Illinois: Two Comcast employees got their walking papers for changing an Illinois woman’s name to an epithet on her bill for complaining about poor customer service. www.adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=11248
The Elgin, Ill., woman’s name was changed to Bitch Dog on her August bill, the Chicago Tribune reported quoting company officials.
This is not the way Comcast does business. We have identified those responsible for altering (the) bill, and they have been dismissed as a result of this incident, the company said.
But LaChania Govan said the apology and firings came only after her story gained widespread media attention. Nonetheless, she appreciated the company’s actions.
A Comcast official declined to say where the dismissed employees were based or why they made the name change, the Tribune reported.
The newspaper said Govan’s story sparked more than 200 e-mail messages about customer service problems with Comcast and other companies, including the Tribune.
