The observation was made the other day on the set of Muff 7, Turd Ferguson’s directorial debut for Extreme, that when Rod Fontana manually assists himself, his whole chest cavity appears to sink into his lower abdomen which then swells accordingly, thus giving the impression of an anaconda gobbling the whole of a Brazilian river boat. Gene: You’ve become something of an Extreme mainstay in recent months. You appear in a number of the blowbangs, and were a “soldier” in the recent Booty Camp shoot. Let me ask you the obvious question. When did you discover that you had a dick. A big dick.

Rockman: When I was a kid- early ages- 5, 6 years-old.

Gene: A promise of things to come as it were.

Rockman: I’ll put it this way. I found out when we were little kids like in summer camp. We were all peeing in a bowl at the same time. Somebody would make fun of it- oh, look at him- he’s got the BIG dick!! That’s when I started thinking about it- maybe I am a little bigger than some of these other guys. But I really didn’t start thinking about it until much later.

Gene: Did you ever give a thought about being a porn performer.

Rockman: I thought about it a long time ago.

Gene: What then was your break.

Rockman: It came in the Fall of 1999. There was an ad for a movie. They were auditioning for some type of adult movie. I called the number; didn’t get a response until a month later. Some lady says come on in for an audition- I’ll take your picture. I’m thinking, yeah, right. Me and a thousand other guys. And it was- literally- hundreds of guys for this movie. She took my picture and about a month later, thinking that’s the last I’ll ever hear from them, I did. It was this movie called Tramp-u-tons. The concept was husband watches wife get fucked. So, of course, I was picked out of hundreds of guys, I guess. I got the part. I know it wasn’t because of my dick size because I wasn’t hard on the picture they took of me, but they said I looked like I could handle the role, that I sounded mature. I played the part and Nina Hartley was in the movie. It was a fun shoot. It was my first time ever on the porn set. I got to work with Casey. Me and Casey kind of hit it off and took a liking to each other for awhile. I hung around her and she showed me a lot of the ropes in the industry. I met a lot of people through her. One thing led to another. I also got to know Reb Sawitz, too, because Casey was living with him at the time. I went about six months without really doing much work. One day I told Reb, why don’t you get me some work. I got put in a couple of little things here and there.

Gene: What did you do to make ends meet?

Rockman: I was actually working as a physician- a resident of all things.

Gene: A doctor-doctor for real like in a hospital.

Rockman: Yeah, I hated my job. My time was up there June of last year. So at that time I started doing other work.

Gene: So you went through medical school; you went through all of this stuff and just decided to say fuck it and become a porn star.

Rockman: Yeah. The year before that while still working as a physician I was doing some modeling, auditioning for a lot of mainstream stuff, already. I had that in mind the whole time. That or porn to see which could bring me the most money. So that was already brewing. I was also doing some bartending. I was doing a lot of things already.

Gene: At what point did you realize that you didn’t want to be a doctor, before or after medical school.

Rockman: The last year of med school. I figured I might as well try it for a little while.

Gene: Is it just me or do other people take notice of your bizarre career option?

Rockman: A few people do but the people that I trust and who are my true friends, are all very happy for me. I don’t care what anyone else thinks.

Gene: Had you stayed in medicine what would you have been doing.

Rockman: Probably putting people to sleep in anesthesiology.

Gene: Now you have the opportunity of doing it in porn. So you’re in this to stay for the long haul?

Rockman: Yeah.

Gene: What was your impressions of Booty Camp

Rockman: Two very long days. I think it was a good idea that they made the girls sign something that said if they don’t last two days, they won’t get paid. I think if they didn’t sign that paper, we would have lost a lot of girls. I think it worked out overall. I think it was very creative.

Gene: Getting back to your dick size. Do you get hired to do many anal scenes or do they go, that guy, aaaaagh.

Rockman: Yeah. I’ve had more than enough of those situations. I’ll let this guy go [up my ass] but not this one. Every once in awhile that happens. Girls shy away. Which I don’t take personal. That’s part of the job.

Gene: Who’s your favorite girl to work with?

Rockman: Probably Sunrise Adams. She’s new. And I like working with Nina Ferrari. A few others.

Gene: Things going for you pretty steady?

Rockman: Yeah. It’s getting there. I’ve worked a lot the past few months. There’s some ups and downs. You got to be ready for that I’ll get shoots cancelled and the same day get one to replace it.

Gene: You also did the lead in Slain Wayne shoot Candy Fucktory.

Rockman: That was good. I enjoyed it. I was very sick those two days beyond what anyone could imagine but I pulled it off. If you watched the movie my voice was two tones lower from my sore throat.
