Porn Valley- Late in June I had a chat with Brian Pumper over at the Zero Tolerance offices, www.ztvideo.com. Pumper is now directing movies for them for a line that will be announced later in the year. Pumper says the line will cater more towards the black market.

This is Pumper’s first shot at directing, he tells me, and he has something like four movies in the can. “So far I’m having fun with it,” he says. Pumper was concerned whether it would be and discovered that it was. In one instance, as he’s relating it, Pumper’s directing a scene and found himself getting excited just standing from afar. “Man- I wish I was in the scene. I never worked with this girl before. She did a good job. Directing was a separate passion but I’m having fun with it.”

Pumper started in the business at the age of 19 which was five years ago but had no thoughts at the time that his career would turn more serious. “I was right out of high school and it had always been a dream to get into the adult film industry and be a porn star,” he says. “Fuck cute babes and get laid. But at that time I was just thinking about getting my willy wet and just having fun and making money. But as time went on and I progressed as a performer, the idea of getting behind the camera was there.

“But I guess there’s really no age when you get behind the camera,” Pumper philosophizes. “I guess the earlier the better. The quicker you learn production of course there’s more financial progress behind the cameras. There’s directing and possibly owning your own stuff. But the real money is in ownership and, hopefully, I’ll be fortunate and be blessed enough to do that.”

I ask Pumper how his music’s going and he says pretty good, wondering how I knew about that aspect of his life. I remind Pumper that I was on a Skeeter set when he was asked some BTS questions and seemed a bit irked at that moment that his train of thought was derailed. Pumper was in the middle of writing lyrics.

“You gave them that Pumper glare,” I remind him. Pumper says he’s been rapping over a year and has always been a huge Hip Hop fan.

“I’ve always loved music- of course the music industry is a whole separate ballgame from porn,” he says. “Actually Hip Hop and porn is collaborating, going hand in hand.” Pumper talks about putting together an album though he’s not signed to any label. He’s got 13 songs and is working on two more. Pumper says he never knew he had it in him to compose, that he loves Hip Hop and is taking it seriously as well.

Pumper also intends to produce the soundtracks for all the movies he’s directing. “Maybe give it a different feel than from the usual porn soundtracks,” he says. “Companies differ and have their own style, but every one of my movies I’m going to have rapping in the intros.” Pumper also wants to incorporate a music video feel in those movies.

“When I’m at home and looking at the music videos like on MTV I wish I could fuck some of those girls,” he states wistfully. “So I’ll make my movies like that, too- you’ll see a little music video and some pretty hot girls shaking their butts, jumping around with some hot rapping and cool cars.” Pumper stresses that at least for the introductions he intends to do that and not beat a dead horse more than is necessary to get a point across. As far as his personal album is concerned, Pumper’s going to shop it around. And he feels he can honestly sell some records.

“I know it would be kind of comical to some people,” he says. “Because in the Hip Hop world you have to be taken seriously. People will say this is a porn star and he’s rapping? This is a joke. You’ve got to be kidding me.” But Pumper feels good music is good music notwithstanding. “In the Hip Hop world all it’s about is selling the image and if I can sell the image I would be the first porno male rapper.”

I suggest to Pumper that with his looks and physique it might be less out of the question than he thinks. “I agree with you,” he says. “But the media and the mainstream world discriminates on the adult film world. It would be different, from what I hear, if I was already a rapper selling millions of records and did porn. I would already have the power and do what the fuck I wanted. Personally, I feel I shouldn’t be judged in any way.” But Pumper laughs knowing that as a porn star he ain’t making bad money any way you look at it. He also dismisses any thought of having a shot as a mainstream actor.

“I’m confident but I know I’m not going to be a Will Smith,” he says. “But for Hip Hop I’d think it would be a gimme. I could sell that whole MacDaddy-pimp-playuh-porn star image fucking all the hot girls in the world kind of thing, along with the regular stuff that rappers rap about- cars, money, jewelry. I’ve fucked all these girls and have made money and I bought a new car. That’s the kind of stuff that sells and I think I can do that in a cocky way.”

Pumper’s of the opinion that 50 Cent is the hottest thing out there right now. “He raps about his gangster lifestyle and cars and money and shining and being successful along with more money along with his street stuff selling drugs.” Pumper says you’d think people don’t want that negative stuff. “But that’s the stuff they want to hear. I personally couldn’t rap about being a gangster. I would really make a clown out of myself. People would look at me like you’re not a gangster; you don’t sell drugs; you’ve never been in jail, you’ve never been shot. You’re the porno guy.”

But Pumper feels if he can keep that real about his lifestyle and market it the right way he can sell records. Pumper also feels it would be a great if a porn company adopts a record label. “Which company out there is a record label and an adult film company in one? Who’s ever done that?” [I could think of possibly LFP which has taken a shot at it.]

The thought isn’t lost on Pumper, either, that some big money would have to be put behind him. But he thinks it might work especially if he’s the first guy trying it. “That would enhance adult film sales,” Pumper thinks, suggesting that rap fans who might not have been into porn would make a crossover. “And it would probably generate pretty girls,” he adds. “I think it would have a positive affect. Girls who thought they might never do porn would do it now. That guy Brian Pumper is a big rapper and I love his music. He’s hot and sexy. He does pornos? Hell, yeah, I’ll do a movie with him.”

I ask Pumper if he’s run into much interracial bias. Pumper says of course that he generally gets the cliches like black guys are big. “That doesn’t hold much weight,” he laughs. “I think percentage-wise that may be true but there’s white guys that are big and girls can’t use that as an excuse any more. It doesn’t hold that much weight.”

Another one that Pumper has heard is that a girl doesn’t have anything against black guys personally but is thinking of her parents and what they might have to say. “And maybe she fucks guys in her personal life.” Pumper might let that argument slide. “But, technically, you’re still doing porn,” he says. But any excuse offered, it still cuts into the girls work, he says.

“You’ll stay pretty busy but think of all the other jobs you could have gotten because you don’t do interracial. You don’t have a problem with black guys? But you’re already doing porn. What’s the big deal?” Pumper realizes, of course, he’s addressing the light side of the issue.

“And then you might have a girl who grew up in an all-white neighborhood and never met a black guy,” he suspects. “Or maybe they’re just brainwashed. Then again there are white girls that just love black guys. But I’m the kind of person to each his own. I just don’t like phony people- one minute a girl’s doing interracial, the next minute she’s not. Women change like the weather, anyway. They’re emotional creatures.”

Pumper says he comes from a good family and had good home training. “I was hyperactive, then I mellowed out and matured. But I’ve always been outgoing and energetic.” Other than weight training and body building, Pumper didn’t get much into sports. “I wanted to be a professional bodybuilder but there’s no money in bodybuilding,” he says. “Plus I would have to take anabolic steroids to compete with pros. That’s a fact. There’s no way to get around that. I actually wanted to become a bodybuilder before I became a porn star, now I just work out for fun to stay in shape and for my on personal pride.” Pumper feels that how you look in front of a camera says a lot about you.

As a kid growing up in New York he was getting a fair amount of pussy. “I had a fairly decent, healthy sex life before I got into the business. I’m not going to lie. I can’t kid you. I know there’s a lot of performers who’ll admit that they didn’t get laid as a youngster. Therefore this was an opportunity for them to let loose and explore their fantasies. Nothing wrong with that at all.” At the same time, Pumper talks about girls he tried to get at who rejected him for whatever reasons as well. Win some. Lose some.

“That was high school and that’s how it usually is,” he says. Pumper laughs at instances where he’d run into some of his old high school peers who didn’t want to fuck him. “Here I am, I’m graduated and doing well and looking good, keeping my health up. They come running up- remember me. We were in Social Studies together. Hey. You’re lookin’ good. I’m like, remember? You didn’t want to give me any pussy in high school. Now you want to give me some pussy? But I was pretty good with the ladies and had a healthy sex life.”

And Pumper said that was what inspired him to get into the business. “I was fucking all these girls, and I would get compliments in the bedroom on my kills, special qualities and stuff like that. Because not every guy knows how to sexually excite a female.” Besides always having a lot of sexual energy, Pumper watched a lot of porn as well. “I would have a healthy sex life and still jerk off eight times a day,” he swears. Albeit blessed with certain physical qualities, Pumper concedes that you don’t need to have those to be a porn star. “You just have to keep your dick hard, keep it up. Average size is cool. You got a big size, that’s better.”

Nevertheless, Pumper watched porn films and noted there were guys who were neither conventionally handsome nor necessarily in shape. But they were fucking beautiful girls. “They say do something you like to do for a career, I thought I’m going to be a porn star! I thought it would be something unique and different. But I also knew not every guy could get in front of a camera and get his dick hard. I’ve always been that confident type and figure if not everyone can do it and I can, I’ll be a hero.” Pumper says he managed to keep his dick hard for his first shoot. “I didn’t know the transitions and the different positions and stuff but it went well. I grew as a performer and had an opportunity to develop myself.” On looking back, Pumper thinks one of his scenes he might have messed up. “But from there it was gravy and I became even stronger.” The most important part of it, says Pumper, is loving sex and knowing you can make money from it.

To get his start, Pumper shot with a company called Caesar’s Video. And from there he began networking and did some magazine work. Pumper also worked with a guy who helped get Lexington Steele’s career off the ground. “He said he could get me in the business and get me out to L.A. where the real industry was.” Pumper went to one of the Erotica L.A. show and started making contacts with companies like Video Team and Anabolic. Pumper would get some work then fly back to New York. “Then it made no sense to keep flying back and forth,” he says. “I could make this a steady career.”

I asked Pumper if there was any particular porn genre that struck him as a fan. “Just pretty girls getting fucked,” he smiles. “I was never really into anal and I had a lot of fun jerking off watching a pretty bitch getting fucked. Anal never did anything for me. But as my sexuality grew, I started liking it. Or maybe I was tired of vag sex. I don’t know. Now I’m in adult film stores looking for fucking anal movies- girls getting fucked in the ass.”

Pumper also likes blowjobs and sometimes seeks those movies out for fun and recreation. “It’s always cool to see a girl who knows how to give proper head,” he says. Pumper likes movies put out by Anabolic, West Coast, Red Light, Elegant Angel. “Companies that are still around now that were popular back then.”

Asked about his first white girl, Pumper frankly doesn’t remember too much about the circumstances. “It was before I got into the business,” he says. “It was in New York- what’s funny about it, is, I truly don’t remember. Maybe I was 17, or 18. I don’t remember. I had fun, too, because I was starving for some white pussy. I kind of experienced in high school a lot of white girls being intimidated by me for whatever reason.” So I figure Pumper might remember an instance like that for that very reason.

“I’ve had a lot of activity in my life since five years ago,” he laughs. “Being in this business and fucking bitches every day, I try to keep count of all the girls. I’m definitely separated from the general population. I’m having incredible amounts of sex with different girls all the time. But I will say this I’m very grateful and appreciative.”

Pumper stresses that although he hasn’t been in church a while, he has a relationship with God. “I communicate with God,” he says. “Even though some people feel that porn and God don’t go together, and that’s not righteous. But I don’t look at it like that. I’m making an honest living. I’m not out in the streets harming anyone. I’m having fun with what I do and I’m successful at it. I thank God for his blessings. That’s it. It’s real simple. I thank him for me being healthy, alive and strong and finding a career that I enjoy. I’m really grateful for being in the business. Life couldn’t be any better.”
