Growing up, Angel describes himself as being a tomboy. “I looked like a little boy. People were always mistaking me for being a little boy when I went to the market or whatever. “High school is the worst years. How did you deal with all of that?”

“It was awful!” Angel states. “I was very shy and very introverted. Because the only people I could associate with were gays or lesbians. I didn’t feel like a lesbian. I wasn’t a lesbian. I was a guy. So I didn’t fit into any group of people because back then they didn’t talk about transsexuals. It wasn’t a big thing back then. But even as you can see today there isn’t a lot of guys like me that are pretty out and talking about ourselves. We kind of blend in to the situation. I can walk down the street and nobody would have an idea that I’ve got a pussy.”

“Do guys like you have a clique- do you all find yourselves?”

“Yeah, there’s organizations,” said Ryder, “But I tend not to get very clique-y that way. I just tend to live my life and do my own thing. Guys like me don’t tend to be as open about their pussies as I am. But it’s not something that’s very common or talked about in my community. You got to hide that a lot.”

Angels says he’s bisexual.

“You meet a woman in a bar and things get down to things get down. What happens?”
