Porn Valley- I talked to Mia Bang Sunday afternoon on Tom Zupko’s latest shoot for Hustler. Zupko was joking about accompanying Bang’s names in the credits with pop gun sound effects. I ask Bang if she’s ever had her cage rattled over her last name. Not really, she says.

Bang’s been in the business about a year and a half, off and on. “I really have only been working the last five months,” she says. “I did maybe ten scenes before that in a year.” I took that to mean Bang had a regular job. “I’m not sure you’d call it regular but it was different,” she laughs slyly. One can only guess.

Bang is repped by L.A. Direct. “I heard a lot of good stuff about them and so far everything’s been working out,” she says. “They get me work and we keep it strictly business. It’s okay for me.” I’m also curious about the younger Bang years when Mia was just a pop.

“I was a really smart kind and I got good grades,” she says. “I was also a dancer- I taught ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop.” Bang had thought about making that a career. “But I just went a different route.” Bang says she’s not trying to make a career out of porn. “It’s just a good way to make a nice income.” Her long term goals are to save money. “I’ve invested some of my money and I’m just hanging out having a good time.”

The first time Bang had sex was anally. She was 14. “I was a freshman in high school,” she says. “I was completely set on being a virgin until I was married. I was dumb and naive back then. I thought anal sex would be fine- so I could still consider myself a virgin. I did that for a good two and half years. The first time I was on the side of my house near some trash cans. I took a towel off the clothes line and we laid it down. I just kind of bent over and gave it a shot. We used spit. He was an Asian so it wasn’t like it was terribly large. But definitely it was a different feeling. He was my boyfriend for quite some time. We did this about once a day for awhile.”

To do it vaginally, Bang had to get drunk. “I was getting ready to graduate high school,” she relates. “I was 17 at the time. I got really drunk and went to the back seat of my car with somebody and that’s the first time I had vaginal sex- when I was ready to graduate from high school. But of course I had to try it again sober to see what I was missing.”

When it comes to girls, Bang would rather be with guys. “I love the penis,” she laughs. “I don’t like to do just girl-girl but if there’s another guy, it’s fun and keeps things going. I think women are beautiful but I’m just not in any way, shape or form attracted to them.”

Mia was in Las Vegas one year during a convention and met some people from the industry. “I was pointed in the right direction- that’s how I got into the business. I wasn’t stripping I was doing things off camera.” Bang was a little scared the first time she got in front of a camera.

“The first scene was a d.p.,” she said. “And I had never done that in my life. I jumped right in. I did that d.p. in the morning, then I met Zupko that night. It was a 13-hour anal scene. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into!” Bang said it it turned out to be an award winning scene and was great. She worked with Tony T.

“That’s a good way of breaking somebody into the business,” she says. “That’s maybe the reason why I only did 10 scenes that first year. Half of them were in the first week.” Bang said she didn’t so much leave the business as that she had other things going on at home. “It was more beneficial to me at the time to be doing other things,” she laughs.

Her parents know what she’s doing. “They found out from other people,” she says. “I come from a very religious family so they took it pretty well. They pretty much told me they were happy that I was making my own decisions and supporting myself although they’re not happy with any of my decisions. But they’re my parents and they’re going to love me no matter what.”

Bang has a lot of fun doing what she does. “I meet a lot of really awesome people and produce a lot of good work,” she says. “I can’t complain at all.”

Bang, who was about to do a scene with Mr. Marcus, said she remembered a scene he did with her in the beginning of her career. It had left a lasting impression with her. “I’m hoping it’s just as good this time.”
