New York – from www.newsday.com – An adult video store employee was arrested Thursday after selling DVDs containing bestiality content from his Huntington Station business to a plainclothes officer, Suffolk police said.
Ajith Managodage, 51, who lives in a backroom at the store, was charged with third-degree obscenity, a misdemeanor, police said.
The store, Pure Pleasure at 700 E. Jericho Tpke., was targeted after community complaints about such DVDs, police said. Bestiality shows people engaging in sexual relations with animals, and such content is illegal.
Second Precinct crime section officers went to the store, where one of them talked to Managodage about specific DVDs and then purchased them, police said.
The DVDs had a retail sticker of $49.95, but Managodage sold them to the officer for $25 each, police said.
In the parking lot, the officer viewed two movies on a portable DVD to confirm they contained illegal content, police said.
A call to the store Thursday evening was not answered.
Four VHS tapes and 52 DVDs were confiscated from the store, police said. They had been displayed out in the open on a shelf, police said.
