MANILA, Philippines – Police busted an online pornography ring operating in Southern Luzon following a series of raids in Laguna province, a radio report said late Monday.
Radio dzRH reported that the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group raided the safehouse of the group, which “fleeces” foreigners looking for “sex-oriented” online chats.
The report said the CIDG simultaneously raided the group’s safehouses in San Vicente village in Biñan and Calamba City in Laguna.
At least 70 people were reportedly brought in for questioning. Police were also preparing charges against the owners of the ring, initially identified as Korean national Kim Soon Tai and Filipino Flor Angelie Rabaja.
Initial investigation showed the gang would pay its “employees” P300 to pose for the web cameras, but charge foreign customers $1 for every chat session.
The clients would pay $1 for every nude pose, not knowing they were merely viewing pre-recorded video clips.
The report said the police teams seized 50 computer sets.-
