Wiles Barre, Pa [queerty.com]- More intrigue in the mysterious case of Cobra Video owner Brian Kocis’ stabbing death. You may recall fire fighter’s found the porn producer’s smoldering, mutilated body back in February and police were intrigued by an escort and porn star named Harlow Cuadra’s involvement. Kocis had emailed Harlow’s picture to a friend two hours before his death. Harlow denied his involvement, insisting someone was playing a “sick joke”.
Police weren’t laughing and apparently searched Cuadra’s home and took a gun, computers, a log book, videotapes and a DNA sample, among other things. Now Harlow’s lawyers are griping that police haven’t given them enough information. The Virginian-Pilot reports:
“Barry Taylor, one of Cuadra’s lawyers, said Wednesday that Beach authorities have no legal right to keep the search warrant sealed.
“Taylor also said the items seized appear to have no connection to the investigation of a stabbing.
“Why would they come in and take a gun, ” Taylor asked Wednesday, “unless there is something bad and wrong that we don’t know about? ”
“Taylor said Pennsylvania authorities and federal investigators have assured him that the only crime being investigated is the fatal stabbing of Kocis.
Cuadra’s lawyers have not allowed police to question the porn star described as “all-American boy next door bad boy”. Good thing, too, because no one’s seen Cuadra for a few days.
While questions abound about where Cuadra may have gone, his lawyers are focussed on finding out what police took from the home and, more importantly, why. Our theory: they took all the things that could implicate Cuadra in this murder. But, you know, that’s just a hunch….
We’ll all know soon enough, for the judge handling the case says he’ll make a ruling on releasing the evidence by March 21. We can hardly wait.
