EL DORADO, Kan. – The capital murder trial of a man accused of killing an Internet pornography model is on track to begin next week with jury selection.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys are to meet Wednesday with Butler County District Court Judge David Ricke for a status conference to work out last-minute trial details. Proceedings are to begin Monday in the case against Israel Mireles.

Mireles is charged with capital murder, rape and aggravated criminal sodomy in the 2007 death of 18-year-old Emily Sander. The college student’s death drew national attention after it became known that she was a porn model who went by the name Zoey Zane.
