Hi Gene, Hey, I just want to clear up a story you ran: Darrah Ford: Embezzlement and Kickbacks Happening at AIM
I don’t normally respond to these ‘fluffy’ stories, but if there are rumors out there (which I’m sure there are), there were no embezzlement’s or kickbacks happening at AIM, at least not during my nearly 3 years there and nothing that involved myself.
I can’t speak for anyone else but myself. Before coming to AIM, I had several years of treating HIV positive individuals and accepted the position at AIM to help standardize some protocols and to give AIM a strong medical and health care clinical basis–in addition to enhancing the services that Dr. Mitchell had worked so hard to achieve.
I resigned from AIM shortly after Alicia Herring left in 2007, but those were plans I had been making for months before hand. I felt the need to return back to my home town of Phoenix, to further my education and research and also to open my own practice and to return to treating the patients I had left before relocating to L.A.
My hope is that when stories like these circulate, people consider the source and don’t make unnecessary speculations. Many thanks for your time.
Regards,
