Don Hollywood, www.dirtyoldlawyer.com writes: Hi Gene, As always I read www.adutlfyi.com today and I can’t resist commenting on Dave Pounder’s press release. Of course, as a lawyer it’s difficult for me to resist commenting on most things but, you know me well enough to expect nothing less.
In his press release Dave said, “You can mess around and have fun in your 20s, but show me one person involved in production of adult content that has a secure, healthy, intimate relationship,” said Pounder. “If you remain in production beyond a certain age, you are pretty much ruling out any prospect for a real relationship.” I can show Dave two people, my lovely Wife, Brooke Hunter and myself.
Brooke & I have known each other for more than 12 years, been living together for more than 10 years and married for 3 1/2 years. That’s better than most couple who are not “involved in production of adult content”. We’ve both been “involved in production of adult content”, as talent working together and with other talent for nearly 9 years. Throughout it all we’ve remained each others best friend and we’re still very much in love. Once more Brooke & I are not the only couple who has “survived” adult, we do know others, but, those of us who enjoy great relationships don’t credit adult. Great relationships are built on great friendships, communications and the desire to work on sharing a life.
While being “involved in adult production” is clearly not for everyone neither is anything else. I, for one, am sick and tired of people making excuses for why they got into and/or out of adult, no matter what stage of our lives we began and/or cease our careers. It seems to me that Dave Pounder is yet another person who has used our industry, can’t wait to see his anti-porn campaign.
My suggestion, get a life and then get a career.

P.S.: On a completely different subject Brooke & I are celebrating another victory tonight. I’ve been in trial for the past week and late this afternoon the jury returned, deadlocked. A win for my Client and another win for my ego!
