Bebe Sweetbriar interviews Conner Habib on www.edgeonthenet.com – Humble, nice-guy, well-read, published writer, intellectual conversationalist, and somewhat of a loner may not be the first descriptives you think of when you think of a porn star.

But once you get to know adult film star Conner Habib, this – along with cute, sexy, hot and adorable – will most likely be what you think of when you think of him. Kind of sounds like boyfriend material, but this high- in-demand porn model may not have the time to add a This text will be the linkloving partner to that list. Having known Conner before he entered the porn industry, it was nice to sit down and visit what has been going on with him over the past three years in his career.

And it was not surprising to me, that the all-around nice guy I knew before still exists and represents his profession with great integrity. However, some discovery was made during our conversation like his childhood dream to be a porn star, his approach to performing his sex scenes, his internal conflict with fans wanting to see him rather than converse with him, and what porn company and porn star are high on his list with whom to work.

BeBe: So how long has it been since you have been in the adult film industry?

Conner: I think now, it’s been three years. But basically it has been two years, because I did a couple of movies and then nothing for almost a year. Then in the summer of 2009, I had a sort of bigger movie and that’s when it all took off.

BeBe: I think it would be safe to say that since your entry in to the industry, you’ve always been a cute soul and cute “little boy”, but you physically have since then beginning gone through a transformation. Wouldn’t you say?

Conner: (Laughs) I don’t know! I’d be the last person to know. I think it’s better not to form an opinion about those things about yourself. Because you never what it seems like from the outside (to others). But it feels good ( a little hesitation), so sure!

BeBe: And in the last 2-3 years, you have actually done a wide range of scenes with a wide range of companies, but what is most cemented in my head about your performances is that you play the son to the daddy most.

Conner: Yeah! I thing studios have been kind of confused as to where to put me, because I can kind of look like a kid or a man, or somewhere in between. I mean I’m kind of boyish, but I have the hairy chest, you know? I think it is a good move to make sure that I’m with someone (scene partner) the definitely looks older than me. And the the people decide where they want to put (categorize) me.

BeBe: Do you have a preference as to what type of scene partner you would like to work with?

Conner: (Humbly) No, I love everybody.

BeBe: You love everybody, or you just love sex?

Conner: Of course I do, but it’s more than that. So much of it is whether he is a nice guy or not. I mean after a while you don’t care as much about how hot somebody is. Because the end result is the same. You can think they’re hot or not hot and you still have to cum. The thing that makes you enjoy it, and love what you’re doing is that the other person is a great guy and is having a good time with you, and is sort of in it for the same reason. And that is that they want other people to watch it and feel good.

BeBe: Are there any scenes that you’ve done that you can recall that in the beginning you thought this will be very fun, but once you got into it you and it was over, you said to yourself that was something I shouldn’t have done?

Conner: (Laughs) I try not to say that is something I shouldn’t have done, because what can you do about it? But I did do a piss scene, and I didn’t necessarily think it would be fun, but I thought I’d try this. And from that (scene) I sort of learned if you don’t do something in your personal life, don’t do it for the first time while shooting a movie for 8-hours. It was just so much work. It was counter-intuitive for me. It was twice as difficult for me than any other scene I’ve shot because there wasn’t anything in it for me that was like sexual. I discovered that I wasn’t really into it when I made the scene. I did have a good time because I was with Steven Daigle who is a good friend of mine, but it was a lot more work than I bargained for.

BeBe: That brings up a question, because I know there are a lot of people who don’t really understand what it takes for porn models to actually perform. I mean as we would view any film made for our entertainment, it is your job as the actor, the primary subject, to make everything appear very easy and effortless. And with sex being pleasurable for most of us, I think it is hard for us to imagine that having sex can be work. So, with that, had any of that ever popped in your mind, as you started your carer and began filming scenes, that hey, this is a lot more work than I assumed it would be?

Conner: Well, yes and no. Porn like most movies is a blend between being real and being fake. It’s neither all phony nor is it all true. Like when you see an actress crying in a scene, she’s really crying because she has emotionally gotten into the scene. You feel it, if you’re an actor. You feel that sadness which helps you get through the scene. It’s the same with porn. You just get into that scene where you’re turn on and excited, but the work is getting there. Once you get there it carries you through. And I think for people who start doing porn don’t necessarily understand, that you have to be an actor in a way.

BeBe: I totally get that. I mean, I know that most sexual beings who enjoy being a sexual being think that being a porn star is probably the best thing on earth, and don’t realize how much work goes into it. I mean come on, we don’t imagine the scene we watch in 10-15 minutes took 8-hours to shoot. Honey, I’d like to think I have great sex, but I don’t think I have it for 8-hours!

Conner: The work is entering into this certain mental state that sort of gives you this super power of this character that you are in the scene. Just like an accountant or teacher or whatever gets up everyday and psychs themselves up to be able to go to work and function, porn is the same thing. People don’t necessarily get that because sex is supposed to be something pure and natural, and not something that has characters and performance.

BeBe: You know, Conner, as I look over your short, but illustrious career, you have developed quite a catalog of work, and with that body of work has come notoriety and celebrity in the public eye. I remember a time before of this porn business that we used to run into each other almost daily on the streets of San Francisco, and I can’t say that that is true anymore. So, that leads me to ask if with all that notoriety and celebrity if you find the need to get away from it all and escape a bit to get into yourself at times?

Conner: Well, there are plenty of porn stars that are much more well known than I, but I spend a tremendous amount of time by myself. So, actually, the notoriety is sort of nice because me interaction where I wouldn’t normally have it. But I spend most of my day, still, reading and writing. So, when people recognize me and say hi, I’m just happy to be interacting with people. I definitely don’t hide from it. It provides me with something that in my normal everyday life I don’t have.

BeBe: Well, is this porn stuff a means to an end, or is this the end? Is this where it stops? I do and have known that you are a prolific reader and writer, so was getting into porn a way to kill time until your writing turned into something more?

Conner: A little of both. I’ve wanted to be a porn star since I was a kid. In that since it’s not an end, but a life goal and I’ve done it. And it is a means because many people who are writers and/or public speakers and the like are viewed a lot as being sexless. You know, many intellectuals are not thought of as having a sex life. So being a writer, and being a porn person, this kind of shows them that these things (intellect and sex) are not separate.

I’m not saying I’m smart, I’m saying that talking about intelligent things and having sex are not mutually exclusive. And so to clear up that confusion, I thought I’m going to do it. I’m going to be the one to do those things equally and take that role. But sometimes it pisses me off because I worry that the people watching me have sex don’t want to hear what I have to say, and conversely, the people who are interested in the things that I write don’t really want to watch the porn. I think most of it more of an internal conflict than a conflict really perceived by the public.

BeBe: Well, do you think there is an opportunity there for you to combine the two and writing about porn and your experiences in the industry?

Conner: Definitely! As far as writing about things, I can’t help but do that. I’ve always been writing since I was a little boy. And porn is apart of my life, so I’m bound to write about it. But when I write about it (porn), I’m really interested in porn itself, not just my life in porn or memoir. I mean what is it? Why are people so into this thing they claim to be not so into? I’ve definitely considered writing about those things.

BeBe: I’ve always said the taboo of porn is really not a taboo. It’s a taboo on the surface, but anything that is supposed taboo can make that kind of money, then everything should be taboo. You hear me? (Both laugh) It’s a freakin’ billion dollar industry!

Conner: Right!

BeBe: Well,I’m going to close by asking you with all the companies and partners you have worked with is there a porn company and model you like to work for and with that you haven’t yet?

Conner: Well, the one company I haven’t worked for yet is Titan, and I like them. Part of the reason I want to work with them is because I haven’t. I did work with Joe Gage (aka Tim Kincaid) who directs a lot of stuff for them. He’s just an amazing thinker and director. He directs porn movies the way people direct real movies. Working with him for Titan would be amazing because there is this Titan legacy.

BeBe: Well, there is a Titan Man, too, that we have come to know.

Conner: Yeah, and I’m not that, but I would like to work for them because I’d like to work with that Titan Man! (laughs). And for the person I’d like to work with that I haven’t yet is Jason Michaels. He is sort of new with Raging Stallion/Falcon. He’s super cute! I think working with him would be really fun.

I think really the question I should pose to the rest of the porn star community is who would like to work with Conner Habib that has yet to? I’m pretty sure that EDGE doesn’t give me enough space to list the affirmative responders to that question. Because just as Conner gets a sexual charge from working with scene partners who are just nice guys, I venture it safe to say that Conner Habib resembles that statement totally!
