PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Is Chase Utley a threat to the nation’s children?

That’s a question the Federal Communications Commission will ask as it reviews complaints about his salty language during the Philadelphia Phillies’ World Series celebration.

The second baseman’s remarks were carried live on several TV and radio stations on October 31. Utley leaned into a microphone and cheered their title as “World Champions.” Then he repeated the phrase, sprinkling in an obsenity.

Utley has since warned children that they shouldn’t use the word. But he suggested it may be OK if you’re 29 and win the World Series.

The FCC may decide otherwise.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that 26 people filed complaints about Utley’s utterance.
