Keyes, Ca- Disgruntled firefighters have agreed to return to duty with the Keyes Fire Protection District after 17 firefighters and cadets walked off in protest over the firing of a cadet for allegedly going on to a porn site, chantellace.com, operated by Rodger Jones, the assistant fire chief.

The firefighters rejoined the force after assurances that the district board will launch an investigation into the seamy motives behind the firing. The firefighters, headed by Capt. Herb Collier have asked the board to replace both Rodger Jones, and his father Eddie Jones, who is the chief. The board considered these matters, along with the re-hiring of the cadet in closed session during its monthly meeting Wednesday.

Collier said yesterday that the 17 had resigned because Rodger Jones and his wife, Keyes firefighter Alexas Jones, had let her involvement in adult entertainment intrude on fire district business. The couple are claiming they kept the two separate.
