First Amendment Rights a Poor Excuse for Hooker Business Cards in Vegas, says This Poster

from www.lasvegassun.com – My husband and I visited Las Vegas recently for a professional conference. We stayed at a hotel on the Strip to be close to shows, shopping, etc. He and his co-workers would take the rented car to the conference, and I would rely on my two feet to get around.

The weather was beautiful, and all my expectations were met with great satisfaction. But then I saw people passing out cards with pictures and phone numbers on them.

Even though I declined to take a card, its content was easy to see as the sidewalk was covered with the dropped or discarded cards. They were graphic, nude photos of women.

I walked past, ignoring the cards, making a note to myself not to pass this corner again. And then I saw them again and again.

People (even women) passing out these cards, putting them in people’s hands as they walked by; every street corner and then some. In the middle of a sunny Friday, I saw families pushing strollers, moms and dads holding hands with their little ones, and a pornographic display for all to see.

I did not venture from my hotel the rest of the weekend.

First Amendment rights are a poor excuse for the marketing of pornography on every street corner. I will not be going back and I will let everyone I know of my experience there.
