Los Angeles- [Laist]- Jason Williams the Star of 1974 Porn Flick, Flesh Gordon (“not to be confused with the original Flash Gordon”) is looking for a Writer to Tell His Story.
Aside from being an incredible source for houses, hookers, haikus and everything in between, Craigslist can also a great source of entertainment.
Reading through the listings under the personal section, especially “casual encounters” and “missed connections” can serve as a much needed distraction on one of those brutally boring days at the office. These sections may not always be the safest for the work environment, however. If your worried about The Man invading your Internet privacy, than take a stroll through the hidden gem of Craigslist entertainment that is the “Gigs” section.
Gigs, unlike listings under the “Jobs” section, are free to post. Anyone and everyone, even a retired porn star can post a gig for the price of zero dollars as opposed to the $25 Craig will hit you up for should post your ad in the “Jobs” section. As a result, anyone and everyone, including retired porn stars post ads in the “Gigs” section.
Found in yesterday’s posting under the “Writing Gigs” section an advertisement from someone claiming to be Jason Williams the man who starred in the 1974 film, Flesh Gordon.
According to Williams’ ad which is very accurately titled, “Celeberity looking for writer” the star of the adults-only parody of Flash Gordon is looking for someone who can “tell the story of my experience circa 1971.” While he may have deficiencies in spelling, punctuation and grammar skills, Williams claims to have a plethora of stories. The ad states, “I have lots of stories about the making of the film and the general feel of the starting of the Porno business as we now know it ..”
Williams, like so many successful adult film stars, is a man of action taking initiative. Before a writer is even hired, the “celeberity” has already come up with a title, “I WAS AN INNOCENT ON THE PLANET PORNO Flesh Gordon inside the start of the porno universe” and negotiated the financial aspect of the deal “PS We would own the rights to the book together”.
The voice of the monster, Craig T. Nelson and one of the movie’s special effects artists, John Dykstra seem to have adjusted pretty well to life after their roles in Flesh Gordon. Nelson has compiled a resume that includes the starring role in Coach, a staple in ABC’s prime time lineup from 1989 to 1997. Meanwhile, Dykstra has collected two Oscars for his work in visual effects on a couple of small films you may have heard of, Star Wars and Spiderman 2. Unlike, Williams, neither has posted ads on Craigslist…that we know of.
