Gay News Network Interviews Falcon’s Roman Heart

from www.gaynewsnetwork.com.au – Sydney’s gay scene is girding its loins in anticipation for the arrival of four Falcon porn stars, who are descending on our fair city to share the love as part of the Big Gay Weekend. One of those porn stars, Roman Heart, spoke to Garrett Bithell.

In a massive coup for the ‘Big Gay Weekend’ festivities, which are replacing Sleaze Bill this year to raise money for next year’s Mardi Gras parade, top adult film studio Falcon is sending four of their stars to share in the revelry direct from the United States.

Falcon Studios exclusives Roman Heart, Erik Rhodes, Landon Conrad and Andrew Jakk will hit Sydney on September 29 in preparation for a huge weekend. All four will be launching the Big Gay Weekend at ‘Boogie Nights: The Porn Star Party’ on Friday, September 30 at Stonewall Hotel on Oxford Street, where they will partying with the eager punters on all three floors of the hotel.

The Falcon stars will also make a special appearance at one of the weekend’s biggest parties, Day Wash at Chinese Laundry, as well as the official recovery party Splash, and at ACON’s Honour Awards.

One of the lads in questions, Roman Heart, spoke to SX and Gay News Network.

Q: Roman, you’re heading to Sydney for a variety of appearances at different events over the Big Gay Weekend. Are you excited?

Yes, I can’t wait till we go. It’s going to be one to remember. I love travelling, and I’ve always wanted to go to Sydney.

Q: What exactly are you going to be doing at the parties you’re attending?

At both, we’ll be interacting and hanging out with the crowd – we really plan to make an impact and get up to some un-missable action.

Q: What are your thoughts on Aussie men?

I have a couple of good friends that are Aussies. I think in general you guys are laid-back and quite handsome to look at. Hopefully I’ll get to snag me one or two, while I’m down there.

Q: You’ve been with Falcon since 2004 – how did your foray into porn first start?

I had a couple of friends in the business, and they convinced me to give it a go. Falcon was one of the first companies I worked for and I loved it, so I’ve been there ever since. It’s been an amazing time.

Q: What was the attraction for you?

I love traveling and meeting new people, and porn has enabled me to travel.

Q: Did you take it to it easily, or was it initially hard for you to get used to the whole thing?

It was awkward and hard at first, having cameras on you and being naked. But with the initial passing of the first couple of movies, it became super easy. It doesn’t even faze me now.

Q: In terms of relationships, I know you dated fellow porn star Benjamin Bradley – but what are the complications when you date someone who’s not in the industry?

Dating people not in the industry is harder for me. Because they assume it’s one way, when it’s not. They know all the stereotypical thoughts of what they think happen, but they don’t know the reality. The reality is it’s a job.

Q: I imagine when you have sex on camera for a living, it must impact on the sex you have privately, or your relationship to sex in general. Is that the case?

It’s intensified intimacy off camera, because I’m more comfortable with myself sexually. Certainly, whoever I date has to be 100 per cent secure in themselves. I can’t date people with insecurity issues; it just won’t work.

Q: What is the most difficult aspect of being a porn actor for you?

People assume that we’re are this and that, and it’s been difficult breaking those stereotypes that people have.

Q: In 2009 you and Bradley created a blog together. For two people who already shared so much of themselves – literally – with the public, why did you want to further open the doors to your relationship?

We had so many people asking questions, and so many people have assumptions, that we wanted to just lay it all out on the table and just be us. Two guys who loved each other and loved sharing their lives together. We enjoyed being us, so we didn’t see any harm in letting other people see it.

Q: If a young guy came up to you and said, “I’m thinking of becoming a porn star”, what would you say to them?

I would say that’s great, that it’s their decision and to think about how it would affect their lives and their future plans. Don’t ever do anything they’re not comfortable with, and have fun with it.
