WWW- [queerty.com]- The Scientological shit keeps flying!
Last week we passed on word that author Ian Halperin will soon publish a tell-all, Hollywood Undercover, which chronicles his undercover adventures as a “gay actor” seeking a same-sex cure from the Scientologists.
As a bit of a follow-up, Halperin has passed on a video of former Scientologist Michael Pattinson talking about John Travolta’s alleged ex-lover, porn star Paul Barresi. Travolta must like his military men.
Meanwhile, Halperin recently spoke with our editor and expressed dismay over controversial author Andrew Morton’s unauthorized Tom Cruise bio:
I’m surprised [Morton] didn’t even bother to interview Scientologists, which is probably why he repeated the long standing rumors without proof. One of the biggest factual errors he made was saying that Cruise is the number two man, [but] when I was doing my investigation, several people at the church said that [Cruise] is actually the number one man of the church. They said that David Miscavige is basically Cruise’s puppet and does whatever Cruise demands… I don’t know where Morton got “Cruise is number two,” because most people in the inner circle know that Cruise is the most powerful Scientologist.
Halperin also told Belonsky that much of the Scientological wrath gets spent on queer-control:
“I did find most of the church’s discrimination leveled at gays. In Hubbard’s book, Dianetics, he writes that the “sexual pervert” – anyone practicing homosexuality, lesbianism – was actually “ill”. Those are his exact words. He wrote that no social order will survive “which does not remove these people from its midsts” And in the same book he claims to be able to cure people of the mental problems that cause homosexuality.”
Don’t worry, though, the Scientologists hate on more than just homos. Halperin asked his Scientologist pals about the upcoming presidential election. While no one would endorse a candidate, one recruiter made it clear that the White House has no room for black folk:
He said, ‘I can tell you who shouldn’t be President – Barack Obama, Condoleezza Rice and the Rev. Al Sharpton. They should not be allowed to run for office, they should be sweeping the office.”
