Hollywood- Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has admitted that she opted to play a porn star in her latest movie with the aim of discarding her girl-next-door image.

The Buffy actress, who stars as raunchy character Krysta Now in new movie Southland Tales, confessed that she was desperate to play a porn star on the big screen, so as to show off her versatility as an actress and get a complete image makeover.

“I need a change and this was just the sort of role I wanted,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

And Gellar claims the film is so appalling and shocking, that it will make casting agents consider her for more diverse parts.

“I want people to see it because it might just shock people into choosing me for other projects,” she said.
