Gen Padova was a guest on the Sports Swami show recently, noting that she had been out of town for the longest time. “Now I’m back to reality and trying to piece my life back together,” she said. “Hopefully I’ll get back in action and do some movies. I’m very excited. I miss it. all.”
Padova said she was very academically inclined as a child growing up and very self-conscious. “Everything had to impressive- that’s the way I am, I guess.” Padova said she’s always harbored curiosities, fantasies and desires that would run through the back of her mind. “When I finally got the opportunity to expose myself in a natural manner, I had a digital camera and took tons of pictures that went into the hands of photographers and directors who used me for websites.” Padova said that background eventually allowed her to express herself in movies. “It’s been a long journey and really, really fun. A lot has happened in a short time.” Padova hopes to continue working in the business for at least a couple more years. Asked who was the one who discovered her, Padova answered, Brian Bradley. “He’s a wonderful photographer for Internet websites,” she said. Padova met him on the Internet.
“I took the opportunity to drive out to North Hollywood, say, hi, and take pictures. I was actually taking a big chance because I didn’t know who I was talking to. Crazy me, but I did it.” Padova describes Bradley as a very compassionate person. “I was impressed.” Swami told her there’s been a lot of rumors and gossip about her particularly relating to a union. Padova said she doesn’t have much to say about gossip or horror stories. “If there have been words about me, that’s great, but I don’t think I’ve tried to piss anyone off in the industry,” she said. “I’ve been a good girl.” On the matter of a union, Padova said that would definitely be great. Asked if it could happen, she said, “Of course it can happen. Anything can happen.
“If you put a lot of time into it and work your way really hard to try to make something happened, it’s a possibility,” she continued. “But I don’t think there’s anybody out here trying to make that happen.” However, Padova said she’s been hearing a lot of talk and conversation in the last couple of months. “Hopefully the next step will make that happen.” Swami threw out his usual rumors-heard about contracts. Padova said she’s not big on them. “I think it’s really great for people who want to have that secure feeling in the business. There’s also people that are very independent and like to have control of who they work with and things of that sort. I’d like to say I’m not that kind of person.”
Padova speculated that perhaps a few years down the line things might be different. “Right now I feel content to do my two projects a week. I like doing things on my own.” Padova said she’s enjoyed working for JM Productions and Heatwave. “And I love working for Legend,” she added. “They are really, really awesome.” Padova said she’s also enjoyed working for Extreme and feels that it’s a shame that they’re going through what they’re going through. Swami couldn’t believe that Padova enjoyed working for Rob Black. Padova said she’s probably one of the few performers who’s had a sit-down conversation with Black. “I think he’s a really awesome guy to sit down and talk. God knows that’s probably why I got the jobs that I did.”
Swami asked what it was like working at Extreme. “Of course they’ll try to push limits; of course they’ll try to do as much as they can or try to get as much as they can out of a particular actress,” Padova said. “If you’re willing to work for that particular company that you know is hardcore, and you know that they do some rather extreme things that not everybody does and you enjoy that, there’s nothing wrong with doing so. And it’s not going to bother you because you enjoy it.” Padova said she loves engaging herself in hardcore sex. “I love doing something out of the norm. I love causing shock value. It’s a big turn on for me, and working for Extreme was kind of an honor. I enjoyed it.”
Asked her opinions about Max Hardcore, Padova said she’s talked to Max and thinks he’s a wonderful person. “He has tried to get me to work for him many, many times.” But Padova discounts the idea of working for him at present or in the near future. “I’m still exploring the hardcore scene and I want to make sure that I’m mentally stable, physically stable and emotionally stable to handle him. I want to prepare myself so that way when I do work for him, I’ll enjoy it.”
Regarding the opinions of others about her being a porn star, Padova said they’re entitled to them. “There’s people out there who are a little more ignorant than others. So be it.” Her mother and father know exactly what she does. “My dad is fully supportive. He’s basically made it clear that I do whatever I want to do as long as I enjoy it. And be careful. Don’t get hurt.” Padova said her mother’s a little kinky, much like Padova is. “She’s actually my best friend and knows every single detail of every movie I’ve done that was worthy of speaking about.” Padova said her mother jokes about the business with her would have tried the industry herself if she were younger.
Swami asked about the rumors that Padova and Joey Serio of Adult Stars Management were forming a partnership. Padova said they were in the middle of talks. “Hopefully it will work out,” she said. “He seems like a wonderful person. He has lots of respect, has a heart and knows what he’s doing.” Padova also said she had no eyes on the mainstream. “I’m sorry, but mainstream films and the porn industry don’t mingle well with each other.” Padova perceives the mainstream as being haughty and ignorant compared to the adult industry. “They haven’t quite figured out what we’re all about to a certain extent. They tend to perceive us as druggies, losers and people supporting people that we shouldn’t be supporting.”
Padova said her length of stay in the industry will all depend on the fans. “I don’t think I’ve been interviewed or exposed as much as I could, but I’m working on it. It’s not so much as trying to get as many people to recognize me as it is with the quality of people that have recognized me and kept in touch with me, and are happy because they can talk with me through the Internet.”
Padova’s website, genpadova.com is a free one, she said. “I built it myself. I maintain it myself on a regular basis. I have a journal that’s updated all the time. I have a news page that’s updated all the time. I have a photo gallery that I just started to get going in the last couple of months. There’s just a lot of information up there that you can just read about me and what’s going on in my life, my personal life, everything.”
