ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — According to Atlantic City’s jailed former city council president, sex, lies and videotape were all in a day’s work.

Craig Callaway pleaded guilty and received a three-year sentence for luring a council rival to a motel and secretly taping him having sex with a prostitute.

Now Callaway wants the city to pay his legal bills and any civil judgment against him related to his crimes. Callaway says that at the time, he was acting in his official capacity as a city councilman.

But he shouldn’t expect a check anytime soon.

Mayor Lorenzo Langford says spying on a fellow council member and invading a person’s privacy does not come under the duties of council member.
