Kansas- A Sedgwick County grand jury has access to 16 hours of pornography. The 15 people on that jury are investigating several adult stores in Wichita.

The grand jury will decide if there’s enough evidence that 7 adult stores are breaking the obscenity laws for a trial. They investigate by talking to witnesses and collection evidence from the stores.

So far they’ve had a chance to look at several hours of movies, and several brown bags of evidence have been brought in for them. One psychologist we talked to says after a while, all that porn may desensitize some grand jury members. But probably not enough to change anyone’s mind about adult material.

The grand jury has met 4 times in September. They plan on meeting again next week. A petition from an anti-porn group this summer forced the grand jury to be called in to investigate the stores.
