NY-Lap dunce Robert McCormick may have to figure out how to pay his $241,000 strip club bill on his own.
The chief executive’s company, Savvis Communications, is asking a Manhattan Supreme Court judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by American Express – claiming that it shouldn’t be held liable for McCormick’s huge Scores tab because it was not a business expense.
AMEX reimbursed Scores for the bill after the East Side strip club convinced the credit card company that the charges were legitimate.
While Savvis’ court papers claim the expense was not for business, it did attach a Nov. 7, 2003, letter to court papers noting that McCormick, 40, visited the club on Oct. 23, 2003, with “three business acquaintances.”
The letter, which was sent to Scores, insisted that McCormick spent only between $18,000 and $19,000 at the club. It said he rented a private room at a rate of $1,000 an hour “for not more than six hours” during which time between four and six dancers were in the room with McCormick and his guests.
