LOS ANGELES — Holly Randall held her first solo art exhibit this weekend, which also served as the unveiling of “Dynasty,” the first art collection retrospective of her acclaimed photographs, featuring some of the most notable adult and mainstream models.
Held in a gallery near downtown Los Angeles, the event kicked off with an exclusive, invitation-only reception where several of the book’s models mingled with fellow performers, adult industry insiders, art world cognoscenti, press and collectors.
Much like “Dynasty” itself, the event brought together performers from several eras of Randall’s career, including Jenna Haze, Nicole Aniston, Celeste Star, Cherie DeVille, Misty Stone, Ryan Keely, Casey Calvert, Lacy Lennon, Luna Star, Ana Foxxx, Maddy May and others.
Randall’s mother and fellow photographer, the iconic Suze Randall, also attended the event to lend support. Other attendees included agent Mark Spiegler and performers Bella Blu, Vanessa Vega, Spencer Bradley, Karla Lane, Lilly Bell, Charlie Forde, Aria Sloane, Charles Dera and Seth Gamble.
Randall told XBIZ that it had been a longtime goal of hers to have a photography exhibition.
“To finally reach that goal this weekend felt like a real accomplishment,” she enthused. “We met our $40,000 goal for the Kickstarter campaign in just under 11 hours, which was really incredible. I just feel so grateful for the support of the adult community and my fans in this project, and I can’t wait to see where we land when the campaign ends in just under a month.”
Calvert described the launch party as “amazing.”
“Holly is such an incredible photographer, and visiting a gallery with large-scale prints of her work was wonderful,” Calvert said. “I’m grateful that I can call someone so talented and gracious my friend, and I’m honored to be featured in ‘Dynasty.’ Holly’s new photo book is an absolute must-have for anyone who’s a fan of her work or glamour photography.”
DeVille concurred.
“Holly Randall is not just incredibly talented — she has this amazing ability to bring out the best in everyone she works with, which makes it an absolute honor to be featured in her book and exhibition,” she said. “I was so obsessed with the photo of Dani Daniels in a bear head on a New York City street that I was ready to buy it, but someone beat me to it!”
Lennon also praised Randall’s career and talent.
“There’s no doubt that Holly is a legend in this industry, but this exhibit allowed us to take our stereotypical hats off,” she told XBIZ. “Holly is an artist, not just a photographer. What separates her is the detail of each individual’s shoot. They aren’t assembly-line replicas. Instead, these are unique pieces that she bled for. When an artist bleeds, vulnerable moments begin to happen. Not to be exploited, but to be showcased. Holly captures womanhood at its finest and it was truly an honor being in her exhibit among women I look up to. This industry is a family that I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of.”
Added Ryan Keely, “Holly’s photos have always belonged on a gallery wall. I’m delighted that a collection of her favorite images have been collected in a gorgeous art book that you can get via Kickstarter. I’ve already ordered my deluxe edition, and will probably order a few of the variant covers while they are still available.
“The event on Saturday was an incredible reunion of people who have witnessed Holly’s career and whose own careers have been impacted by her gift,” Keely added. “The first time I saw Holly’s photos changed how I saw myself. She shot my first magazine spread. I didn’t know I was glamorous until I saw myself through her eyes and lens. Getting to celebrate her tremendous skill with other models who felt similarly, was indescribable.”
