from www.miami.cbslocal.com – POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – A former Pompano Beach charter school teacher is in jail accused of using a computer to solicit sex from at least 4 of her teenage students.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office says Stevie Glasspool wanted to teach at least four teenage students at Mavericks Charter High School about more than English. They say she wanted to get them into bed.
Christian O’Neill, 17, says he was one of the victims.
“Throughout the whole entire year she’d kind of like, flirt, so I figured this would happen,” O’Neill told CBS 4′s Carey Codd.
O’Neill says Glasspool would make comments about visiting her at home and doing drugs together. Then he says the R-rated comments started.
“The sexual comments came out about how I want you to sleep over, I want you to give it to me,” O’Neill said.
The arrest report says Glasspool messaged the teen:
“Your body is amazing.”
“I wish you were single.”
“You should spend the night.”
“You will be graded on your performance.”
“I have marijuana for us to smoke.”
O’Neill also showed CBS4 a Facebook chat with Glasspool where he says she asked him to visit her at home and engage in sex. He says he found it flattering until he learned that a 15 year old boy had also been propositioned.
“When I found out that she also contacted a 15 year old kid, that’s when it kind of got brought to my attention that, ‘Oh my goodness this girl has something not right in her head,’” he said.
Glasspool was arrested Thursday in Palm Beach County on a charge of soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer. O’Neill’s father Frank says he too was disturbed when he learned a 15 year old had been victimized.
“It just disgusted me,” Frank O’Neill said. “It made me sick to my stomach. Who can you trust because I always put teachers up there with policeman, firefighters, you know, role models.”
Christian O’Neill says Glasspool acted strangely when he wouldn’t respond right away to her Facebook messages.
“It would be, “Hi, Hey, Hi, Hi. Why aren’t you answering me? Are you mad at me? What did I say?” It was just pathetic,” he said.
Stevie Glasspool was fired from the school last May. She is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $25-thousand dollars bond.
Frank O’Neill’s father said he is proud of the way the school handled the allegations.
“They’ve been sensitive about everything that’s happened,” Frank O’Neill said. “They’ve keep me informed. They’ve really gone above and beyond to be sensitive to our needs.”
