from www.houstonpress.com – In late 2010, I wrote about five porn stars that you should follow on Twitter. It was no easy task. A lot of the bigger actresses aren’t much fun to follow (boring valley-girl pap) or worse, they pump followers to buy them stuff on Amazon by tweeting links to their “wishlists”, which can get annoying.
Hawking their own Fleshlights is OK though.
Even more interesting now has been watching the aftermath of the syphilis outbreak unfold, as actors and actresses talk back and forth about how they are dealing with the industry basically shutting down.
Two of the five girls I listed are now out of the sex-movie business, leaving behind the game for greener and more clothed pastures. The others are still rocking and rolling, and some even have Instagram accounts now.
Sasha Grey now is now working on a mainstream acting career that she started with Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience, and she also spends time DJing around the country. She was actually just in Houston last summer at Stereo Live.
Misti Dawn is now a full-time video game gal, reviewing games on her YouTube channel and blog, and makes the rounds on G4 and Spike and at various comic book conventions. She seems a lot happier too judging by her Twitter account.
So who else is there to follow? Well it wasn’t easy to narrow this down, but here goes nothing.
Lexi Belle [pictured] – She loves cheese, smoking pot, animals, and has played Lady Gaga and a sexy Smurf in a few porn parodies. Miss Belle is one of the most down-to-Earth normal porno girls on Twitter. Aside from the whole constantly-nude thing, she could be the girl in your apartment building you are too shy to talk to.
Lisa Ann – Though her love of the Lakers and the Cowboys may make some Texans followers frown, Lisa Ann’s Twitter feed is all killer and no filler, and she posts plenty of links to new content and scenes if you somehow forget what she looks like naked. Oh, and she is probably best known for her work as “Sarah Paylin” on screen and off, most recently in Tampa for the Republican National Convention. She’s the jet-setting sort, always tweeting from a different time zone. Her frequent flier miles have frequent flier miles.
Christy Mack – Mack is somewhat of an industry newbie, but she already has a rabid male and female following in the porno world. Maybe it’s the tattoos, the haircut, or the car love, or all three things. She also helps rescue pitbulls when she’s not filming content, and her feed is full of pictures of her own four-legged children. Every #MackMonday is a miracle, but don’t take my word for it.
Bryci – Not really a porn star since she just poses nude solo or with other girls, but Bryci is one of the most popular models on Twitter. Nearly 38,000 men and women hang on her every word, er, picture. Fun fact: she’s Canadian.
Best Porn Comments – Best Porn Comments isn’t a person or even a company. It’s just a Twitter feed that collects the weirdest comments that people leave on porn videos on free YouTube-like video sites. Witty asides like “SELLING YOUR BODY WILL NOT GIVE YOU SATISFACTION IN LIFE BUT JESUS IS THE SATISFACTION IN LIFE.ACCEPT HIM AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR.AMEN” and “Her tits are ghosts” confuse and amuse us. What do you want from these guys, they are typing with one hand.
By the way, why do porn sites have Twitter and Facebook share buttons? Are there people recommending bukkake compilations to their relatives and friends from high school?
