VAN NUYS, Calif. – The ongoing bout between Apple Inc. and the adult industry continued to heat up today as Pink Visual (www.PinkVisual.com) announced the launch of iTouchHer (www.itouchher.com), a new adult web-app for the iPhone that offers a series of humorous, porn-related games.
“We wanted to create a web-app that would not only appeal to the typical adult consumer, but also to the gadget-hungry Gizmodo and Engadget crowd,” said Lea Busick, subscription site and affiliate program director for Pink Visual. “With that in mind, it didn’t take us long to decide to create a game application with a variety of sexy and funny games that iPhone users can get a kick out of playing and then share and compare their scores with others by posting the results to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.”
The launch line-up of games includes dubiously titled tongue-in-cheek entries such as “Roast Beef or Twat?” and “Tranny Hunter”, along with more traditional progressive photo set viewing, like “Lesbian Seduction” and “3 Way Touch.” Pink Visual said there will are many more games to come, as well.
“Not only will we add more games of our own devising, but we’re also going to be asking users to submit ideas for new games,” stated Q Boyer, marketing coordinator for Pink Visual. “We not only want consumers to enjoy our products, we want them to become part of the creative process, and that philosophy has contributed to the success of our other mobile sites, like iPinkVisual.com (www.ipinkvisual.com).”
Busick said that while the company “doesn’t want to create an antagonistic relationship with Apple” and understands that Apple wants to keep the App Store “family-friendly,” Pink Visual felt a need to find some way around the App Store rules to deliver its iPhone-using customers a compelling porn-related product.
“Even though we think their guidelines are a bit ill-conceived, web-apps are currently the only legitimate way to get around those guidelines,” Busick said. “I suppose we could have resorted to playing a ‘bait and switch’ game with Apple, which some other companies have done, but we feel that is a suspect business practice, and something we have no interest in doing. In the ongoing battle between Apple and porn, we at Pink Visual just want the consumer to be the winner.”
