SIOUX CITY — from www.wcfcourier.com – City Councilman Aaron Rochester said a bus for the “Girls Gone Wild” videos that was parked on Historic Fourth Street featured large photographs of half-naked women.
“It was pretty lewd,” he told his council colleagues at the conclusion of Monday’s meeting. “I don’t think that should be out in the street for all to see.”
Rochester said he noticed the bus this past weekend while taking his family to a movie at the nearby Promenade theaters. Other families took in movies a block away at the Riviera.
“I’m sure it was a shock to parents” taking their children to the movies, he contended. After the meeting, Rochester said he was told a crew was filming inside Tom Foolery’s Pub & Grill at 1008 Fourth St.
He asked the city attorney if the posters, which he described as showing “sleazy girls,” violated the city’s decency law.
“Without seeing the pictures, I’m not sure if it rises to this level,” City Attorney Andrew Mai replied. “In the future, you should call the police department” who can check if such photographs violate the law.
Rochester said he was told the “Girls Gone Wild” bus was parked on Historic Fourth Street all weekend. The videos are advertised for sale on late night cable television infomercials.
