Together they floated the $5 million porn bailout bid – making little old ladies worry that their tax dollars might go to a porn industry that seeks federal bailout tax dollars – even though the Flynt and Francis couple had to admit that the $13 billion, which the sex industry is raking in, is anything but flaccid.

With bailout funds being paid to businesses which are holding lavish parties for their execs, it has been on anyone’s mind that it is time to hold out their own hands for a piece of the federal pie. This makes the Larry Flynt porn bailout an almost revolutionary suggestion.

Thinking back to the mist filled night of 12-16-1773 in the Boston Harbor, was it not a group of visionary and fed up longshoremen who tossed about 45 tons of tea into the sea and affected an end to colony taxation for the time being? Could today’s porn industry be such a visionary to point to government waste, and maybe end the oppressive taxation that plagues the average Joe (Francis)?

Californians will remember that in 2003 he ran as the “Smut Peddler Who Cares” when the people ran Governor Gray Davis out of office. CNN reported that his platform included an expansion of casino businesses that would bring in additional tax revenues. Larry Flynt lost to Arnold Schwarzenegger.

So perhaps the people might be a bit careful before swallowing hook, line and sinker what a man who wore an American flag as a diaper (according to the New York Times) says when it comes to patriotism.

On the other hand, those who realize that asking the fox to undertake henhouse protection duty is just as nonsensical as trusting government spendthrift politicians to get America out of the mess they got it into in the first place, see a bit of humor in the porn industry bailout gag.
