ORANGE – from www.ocregister.com – Former Orange County resident Jesse James, the motorcycle guru who cheated on ex-wife Sandra Bullock, is due in court next month in an ongoing custody battle with another former wife, porn star Janine Lindemulder.
The two are expected to return to the Lamoreaux Justice Center in Orange on Nov. 5 for a hearing to consider visitation issues concerning their 6-year-old daughter, Sunny, and a motion to move the case to Texas, lawyers for both parties said Thursday.
A temporary visitation plan was worked out Thursday pending the full hearing next month, their attorneys said. Details of the visitation plan were not available.
James, of TV’s “Monster Garage” fame, is in the process of selling his Sunset Beach condominium for about $1 million. The condo is near the house he and Bullock shared before their marriage imploded earlier this year after news surfaced that he cheated on the Oscar-winning actress. Their divorce was finalized in June.
James has been living in Austin, Texas, the last few months and is in the process of closing his West Coast Choppers business in Long Beach, according to media reports.
In May 2008, Orange County Superior Court Commissioner Thomas Schulte ordered James and Lindemulder, who now goes by the name Janine Aikman, to share physical and legal custody of their daughter.
Schulte modified the order that October after Lindemulder was convicted of tax evasion and sent to prison for six months.
In July, Schulte ruled that James could move from Sunset Beach to Austin with Sunny and his two other children, but Lindemulder was granted visitation for extended periods during summer breaks and other holidays, such as spring break and Christmas.
However, James and a relative of his have alleged that Lindemulder since has threatened to abduct Sunny.
And, in court documents, James has alleged that Lindemulder has harassed officials at Sunny’s school, and that she has sounded drunk or high when she has called him.
Lindemulder says in court documents that James is doing everything he can to prevent her from having a relationship with their child. She says he has prevented her from having court-ordered phone calls and visits with Sunny.
Lindemulder reportedly wants to move from Costa Mesa to Austin to be closer to her daughter.
James reportedly moved to Texas to live near Bullock, who recently adopted a child of her own. Lately, he has been romantically linked to tattoo artist Kat Von D, 28, the star of the reality TV show “LA Ink.”
Schulte has taken on a new assignment at the West Justice Center in Westminster.
One issue attorneys will have to decide at the November hearing is whether they want the new commissioner assigned to Schulte’s old courtroom to take up the case or have it assigned to a judge.
