WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA) — On the eve of The 2009 GayVN Awards, one of the biggest nights in the gay erotic film industry, JASON SECHREST has announced the launch of a new management company for that industry’s performers, DV8 Casting.
At 29 years old, SECHREST has served the adult entertainment industry for over 10 years as a reporter, publicist, director, talk show host, club emcee and web entrepreneur. This will mark his first foray into managing the stars he’s interviewed for a decade.
SECHREST intends to bring his PR skills to DV8 Casting, not only serving as an agent to his performers, but a promoter as well, which is precisely why he says he’s launching with a small stable and insists on keeping it that way.
“I’m starting with a small stable of eight incredible performers and I don’t think I would ever want to take on more than twenty at a time,” says SECHREST. “I think it’s important that I be able to focus individual attention on the performers and not just get them work, but build them into true superstars of the genre. I’ve worked as a publicist for a lot of years so I think it’s exciting that with DV8 Casting, performers can be afforded a big marketing machine without having to be a studio exclusive. It’s also an added bonus for the studios. Obviously, if they hire one of these performers, they’ll have me doing a lot of press for their movie.”
DV8 Casting lifts off with PHILLIP AUBREY, RYAN FOXXX, JOSH GRIFFIN, BEAU MARCUS, JASON PITT, SHANE RISK, MASON ROSS and JOSH VAUGHN signed to SECHREST’s roster exclusively for all video, print, online and live appearance bookings. “My main motivation is to create superstars, so I’m looking for performers who have a lot of potential they haven’t yet reached or performers who are reaching their potential but aren’t being promoted enough,” SECHREST explains. “I’m being really selective because I don’t want the roster to get too big. I want it to be a really prestigious and special thing to be a part of the DV8 family.”
In his first days as an agent/manager, SECHREST has already placed JOSH GRIFFIN in his Jet Set Men debut for this year’s GayVn Hall of Fame inductee CHRIS STEELE’s football-themed movie “Tackle,” and has booked PHILLIP AUBREY as the lead in multi-award winning director CHI CHI LARUE’s biggest budget production so far this year, “TAKE.”
