Scottsdale- Jenna Jameson’s New York attorney is piecing together a lawsuit that will argue Scottsdale discriminated against her by pursuing tougher regulations once officials learned she had purchased a share of Babe’s Cabaret strip club in south Scottsdale. Jameson says she also plans to launch a referendum drive in an attempt to overturn the city’s new strip club regulations.
The City Council voted unanimously Monday to outlaw full nudity in Scottsdale’s two clubs, Babe’s and Skin Cabaret, and to require strippers to maintain four feet between themselves and their customers.
To collect the required signatures, Babe’s owners intend to hire paid petition gatherers, said Jackie Markham, a Jameson spokeswoman.
When enforced, the clubs’ owners said the revised ordinance would likely force them to close.
Skin Cabaret owner Todd Borowsky said the distance rule would mean removing as much as half of the club’s seating, obviously reducing capacity and thus damaging the business.
