JONESBORO, AR – Pornographic film actor Ron Jeremy will appear at Arkansas State University next month to participate in a debate on pornography.
Jeremy is one of porn’s most visible stars, and has appeared in more than 1,000 adult films. The former high school special education teacher from New York City entered the burgeoning adult film industry in the late 1970’s and has become one of its most memorable icons. Jeremy is also often seen today in many mainstream forms of media, and currently appears in the WB reality show, ‘The Surreal Life.’
Scheduled to square off against Jeremy in the debate is Susan G. Cole, who at the same time Jeremy was launching his porn career, was actively protesting the movie, Snuff, and becoming a leader in the anti-pornography movement. Cole has written countless essays and articles on violence against women. She also authored the book, ‘Pornography and the Sex Crisis.’
The pornography debate will take place on March 10 at 7 p.m. in Riceland Hall of the ASU Fowler Center. The event is sponsored by the ASU Student Activities Board.
