jessica drake, Michael Raven Tout “Delilah”; quoth the Raven: “I’m a Walking Valium These Days”

Porn Valley- Cuz Fucker, who’s got the 6pm Friday show on KSEX, www.ksex.com, along with Lorrainiac told me about the bloody mouse in the mensroom. The KSEX mensroom is getting a lot of action, but this time it was Cara Lott using it when she was there Wednesday night.

Apparently Lott attempted to flush a tampon that wouldn’t go down, and it clung to the side of the bowl. Why Lott was in the mensroom is anyone’s guess. But, according to Cuz Fucker, this is why Lott wore red on Anita Cannibals’ show.

Bathrooms were somewhat of a topic on Jason Sechrest’s show, but in a dramatic sense.

Sechrest, www.jasoncurious.com is about to air and is wearing more foundation than a building project. He was hosting jessica drake and Michael Raven at 4pm. And Sechrest is explaining how Raven was his cultural rebound between Danni’s Hard Drive and Sechrest starting his own company. He explains.

“He [Raven] had a crazy idea to do a show called XTV,” Sechrest states. As part of the exercise, Sechrest would be interviewing people on sets.

“There were some crazy concepts; it was a really good show,” Sechrest continues. “I’m sure he has the archives stashed in his pants.”

Sechrest also remembered having meetings with Raven where they’d get on tangents like religion, philosophy and the castration of The Magdalene from the bible.

Regarding drake and her latest feature for Raven and Wicked Pictures, Sechrest said he had history with jessica as well but wanted at least a half hour of Raven alone on the show. Presumably to talk about the director’s failed marriage with Julia Ann who had been on Sechrest’s show earlier this year. www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=21478.

Recapping some of her comments, Sechrest quoted Julia Ann as saying the relationship with Raven was her greatest failure in life. And he wanted to get Raven’s side of the issue.

“I don’t want to make her sound psychotic,” laughed Sechrest. “I’m not sure that she tried to poison someone’s dog, or is two screws short of a tool shed. Or that ‘Delilah’ is written about her.”

Whatever. Sechrest said he’d never been this excited about having a straight show.

“I went though lots of red tape getting you guys on,” Sechrest told drake and Raven, describing it as an obstacle course similar to going through Tommy Mattola to get to Mariah Carey. [At least in the old days.]

“We’re protected,” drake laughed.

“I think this is Wicked Pictures’ year,” Sechrest thought, claiming to have heard rumblings that Raven’s movie Black Widow was even better than Delilah.

Sechrest told Raven how much he had loved Delilah.

“It’s raising the bar for Wicked,” he said. “We can actually see the penetration.” Sechrest was being his amusing, bitchy self, of course. Nevertheless, Sechrest described the film as something Raven is best at: mixing religious iconography and sex. Here, Raven updates the story of Samson and gives it a modern angle.

According to Sechrest, drake, in the starring role, pulls off a duality similar to Rebecca DeMornay in Hand That Rocks the Cradle.

“Sweet and I’ll fuck you up. This is real, raw and visceral.”

Raven said drake got the most importnt scene in the film- the bathroom scene- in one take.

“It was pretty intense.”

Sechrest also complimented Raven’s ability to bring together great color and lighting schemes in his filmmaking.

“It’s a nice color palette.”

Raven agreed that he uses it to create and stir emotions.

“I’ve been afforded a film school education by working for Wicked,” said Raven, noting that he, Brad Armstrong and Francois Clouseau feed off one another, creatively. On the recent Operation Desert Stormy project, Raven did some d.p. work and said he was in stitches the whole time.

Tracking his career back to Sin City, Raven admitted that some of his projects have been hit or miss.

“Some movies failed miserably.”

In hindsight, Raven felt there was so much he could have done differently on his films but tries not to get tripped up thinking about that now. However, Raven feels he’s been on a roll since his sci-fork work, Visitors.

“I was lost but now am found,” he laughed.

But with Delilah, Sechrest felt that Raven hit the nail squarely on the head.

“Each relationship in the picture added to something and made sense,” replied Raven whose only regret was the fact that he couldn’t use the entire footage of Sammi Rhodes and drake in the shower scene, although it’s included as an extra on the DVD.

Sechrest was of the opinion that drake could win Best Actress for this role.

“She was awesome,” agreed Raven, indicating that the movie was shot over a two week period.

“She came with a game face every day.”

Also complimenting Randy Spears on his performance, Raven said stories from the bible are the best in existence and it provided the betrayal and violence themes in Delilah. drake also described Spears as, “A man who knows his way around women.

“I love Randy- he does it for me.”

drake described herself by nature as being pretty rough, sexually.

“I was the Tasmanian Devil in this one scene in Delilah,” she comments. “I collapsed in a heap- I couldn’t move. I had such a big fit. I thought I was having an attack.”

Raven said it was also great having Veronica Hart who plays the mother.

“She gave me the entire range- it was incredible.”

Raven recalled the first time he saw Hart in a movie- Wanda Whips Wall St.

Sechrest wondered if Raven thought the bible should be taken literally.

“It’s up to the person to decide,” answered Raven, mentioning the fact that he grew up in The Assembly of God and went to church four times a week.

“It was a very strict upbringing.”

Raven also conceded that perhaps some of his work has been motivated by religious rebellion.

“But I respect the bible and its beliefs,” he added, stating that The Book of Solomon is one of the most sexual books he’s ever read. Raven also feels he’s probably more spiritual than religious.

“I respect religion but I have no use for it,” he adds. “Men and women should not feel guilty about sexuality.”

Raven’s also of the belief that the church has manipulated that guilt as a form of control.

Raven went on to describe how he and drake first met- at a club in El Paso, Texas where she was performing.

“A week later she was in California.”

drake’s recall of events was that she was passing out pictures of herself at the club. She was introduced to Raven.

“I didn’t know exactly what he did.”

In any event, Raven was there for a shoot and drake said she talked her way on to it and recalled an instance where the crew was at a hotel eating breakfast.

“I’m an eater and everyone was staring at me chowing down the food,” drake said. “I have a fast metabolism.”

Raven, who looks at the El Paso days as those of “incredible innocence,” recalled that he was also with Sydney Steele at the time. She was starting her own career.

“She was my example,” said drake. “She taught me a lot and I admired her poise and confidence.”

drake went on to describe both Raven and Steele as her mentors.

“I got lucky,” she said. “I never did anything I regretted. I was sheltered- but I was lucky.”

Subsequently Raven and drake both wound up at Sin City before moving on to Wicked Pictures.

“She’s come into her own the last three or four years,” he comments.

Asked what she’s been up to, drake said she had done a lot of AD work on Brad Armstrong’s war picture, Coming Home, a movie he had written.

“He has so much screen time,” she explained. “He said he wanted to be in it and not give up the role.”

There was a critical scene that allowed for only one take and drake was crossing her fingers to get it. She has also tried her hand at writing and has penned films, one starring Carmen Hart, Just Between Us; another with Julia Ann, Love Always. A third one is titled Dating 101. For her part, drake said she doesn’t want to leave adult or its people when it comes time to hang up her thong.

drake said she’s also given thoughts to adopting.

“But not right now,” she adds. “I’m not of a mindset where I can have a child and go do a sex scene.”

Raven who’s been with the screenwriter of Delilah- Jennifer Allen- for over a year and four months said he wouldn’t mind having a son who he’d name Ezekial.

Asked how he felt about the current situation in Iraq, Raven said while he supports the troops, he’d like to see them come home.

“They should never have been over there to begin with. Too many have died. We should clean the mess up.”

drake recalled a humorous instance recently where she met a Jessica Drake at a signing.

“Her dad’s a senator,” drake adds. “But she’s a Drake by marriage.”

According to drake, the senator was even asked if it was his daughter who was the porn star.

“It was pretty funny.”

Sechrest also asked drake about her marriage and split up with Evan Stone. drake explained that she’s had a rough going because she had also lost her father, grandmother and a dear friend. drake’s currently in a relationship with Brad Armstrong that’s lasted three years but didn’t want to talk about it for fear of jinxing it. Nevertheless, she’s very happy, according to her.

On occasions, drake said she’s tried talking to Stone but it didn’t work.

“Deep down he’s a good person,” she said. “I would be open to talk.”

On other occasions, drake said she requested that Stone work with her but he wouldn’t do it.

“He wouldn’t budge on his rates- that’s what it boils down to,” she comments.

As for acting, drake said she reads books on the subject, attends workshops and consumes her roles. drake mentioned an instance where she attended an acting class and was recognized by one of the students who put the word out.

“Of course Wicked Pictures also had a big billboard on Hollywood Blvd. at the time,” she laughed. drake is also candid about the fact that she’s hardly shy about chewing up the scenery.

“I like roles where I can step out,” she said, describing the bathroom scene in Delilah as one that took a lot out of her mentally.

“If there’s one thing I can do, it’s let myself go on camera,” she continues. “It’s the attraction of what I do for a living. And I get to throw fits.”

Raven agreed that drake made the Delilah role her own without a lot of back story to go on.

“It was up to her to create that and she owned that character. She did a lot of stuff that scared me. You can’t teach someone how to do that. We didn’t have to do a lot of takes.”

drake also credited the fact that there was excellent writing involved in the movie.

Sechrest brought up Julia Ann’s “greatest failure” quote to Raven.

“I can’t seak for her,” said Raven who admits how he tends to get in his own head space and consequenly fails to give people the attention they deserve.

“I surround myself with a protective bubble and no one can get in,” he went on to say. “We both made some major mistakes. We both said and did things we shouldn’t have.”

While Raven said he missed certain aspects of the relationship, the reality is it’s best they’re not together.

“We’re both wired completely different,” he assesses. Raven also realized that by the end of the first year the relationship was over.

“I thought I could change my thinking but you can’t change who you are,” he believes.”

“I could come up with a lot of things I did but shouldn’t have done. There were a lot of negative pressures but when it was over, it was a release. There were also times when I wished I had spoken softer or sweeter. You say things in a moment of passion when you can hurt people. But sometimes sugar coating is needed. I had a temper, but I’m a walking Valium these days.”

Raven also said Julia Ann is now retired and doing makeup. The retired part came as a surprise to Sechrest.

Taking note that the Internet is radically changing the landscape of the adult business, Sechrest asked if there’s a dying breed of superstars in the business.

“The age of the superstar is dying if not over,” Raven agreed. “I think we’re in for a change. I don’t think star power will have the impact like days gone by.”

Raven admitted that he’d probably get some flak for that statement.
