Porn Valley- The sexy Joanna Angel visited KSEX Wednesday night. And we know she’s sexy because the NY Post just declared her sexy. Angel talked a little bit about that and hiring girls with green mohawks for porn movies.
Wankus brought up the Post story and the fact that Angel was named among the sexiest 25 people in New York.
“And here we are in Los Angeles,” Angel laughed. “I was really happy about that- it wasn’t like anything I expected. Somebody sort of e-mailed me one day. They’re, like, you won. What did I win? They’re like you’re one of the top 25 sexiest people in New York. Really?” Angel said she didn’t enter a contest or have to juggle.
“Obviously other people were submitting my name so that made me really happy. It’s awesome.” Aside from the fact that she’s an adult star, Wankus pointed out that it’s an honor because Angel’s looks are different.
“It’s not considered America’ standard,” he said. “Like the little girl next door or the blond bombshell. You’ve got this alternative, punk-ish tough-girl look. Which is great that they would choose you for that.” Wankus also talked about how co-host Sunny Lane was pasty before she started to tan and that she was so pale that even working with a white guy was an interracial scene.
Angel says she has similar problems.
“Every time I have to do a shoot the makeup artist is always, like, I don’t have a shade to match your skin- I know. I’m not from L.A. I don’t go tanning. I’ve gone like tanning twice in my life.”
Angel mentioned something to the fact that she drives around LA in a car without air conditioning.
“I leave the windows open and accidentally get a tan. I borrow my friend’s car and there’s no air conditioner in it.” Wankus seemed to recall having a conversation with Angel in which she said she was going to retire.
“Did I really say that?” she asked. Then, again, Wankus thought maybe it was alcohol talking.
“I think I was joking with you,” Angel said. Wankus recalled conveying that news to others thinking she was serious.
“She just started- she finally got her name going.” Angel explained that she just got a contract and doesn’t really shoot much any more.
“Sometimes I joke around with people- yeah, I’m retiring,” she laughed. “I was just joking around. It’s a very big difference. Because I remember when I came out here before I had a contract, I would come out here for a month and shoot every single day. Now, having a contract you shoot less in a year than most girls in the industry shoot in a week. But I’m focusing more on directing, too. I’ve done a bunch of movies that I haven’t been in that I have directed.”
Angel said her Hustler contract was something like ten scenes.
“That’s a little more than other contracts, I think.”
“Is it actually through Hustler or their sister VCA?” Wankus wanted to know.
“VCA doesn’t even have, like, an office,” said Angel. “So I go in there and I’m talking to everyone from Hustler. But it’s pretty cool. I like it.”
Angel noted that she has another movie coming out in which she stars.
“It’s called Joanna Angel’s Guide to Humping,” she said. Wankus asked if the word “alternative” bothered Angel when used to describe her.
“Sometimes I think it’s funny,” answered Angel. “If you saw my movie Joanna’s Angels 2, the whole movie is making fun of the concept of alt. The whole point of the movie is that somebody gets kidnapped and there’s a ransom letter that if you don’t make alt illegal I’m not giving back your daughter. It’s a ridiculous movie where everyone’s fighting for alt.”
Wankus said he saw the movie and thought Mr. Marcus was hysterical.
“Because he’s like so stoned all the time.” Wankus said it featured girls he’s never heard of before and Angel explained that they were girls from her website.
“Every director really puts what they want to see in their movies,” continued Angel. “That’s the whole point of being a porn director. You get to make your fantasy and people act it out. When I started directing I wanted to use girls with green mohawks and they’re covered with tattoos.”
“Honestly that shit doesn’t do anything for me,” Wankus told her. “But I think that’s why you shot to popularity- there’s a big niche market for that. It’s not a small market. There is a big market for that and especially east coat. I grew up in New York, too, so I know that whole look is in. Always.” Angel said one of the girls she used in Joanna Angel’s Guide to Humping fits that description.
“And she’s really hot- she has a perfect body and she’s gorgeous. She has really nice skin and big eyes. She’s a pretty girl. A pretty girl is a pretty girl. You put a tattoo on a pretty girl and she’s still pretty.” According to Angel the movie is coming out mid September and she works with James Deen in it. Angel indicated that Deen is pretty much the only male talent that she works with.
“It’s by my choice,” she says. “I’ve worked with a lot of guys for a little while but we’ve always done the best scenes together. We knock it out. We’re a dirty couple.”
Lane was asked if she ever worked for Hustler.
“I did the magazine and I was in Young Sluts 17,” she answered. Angel recalled how she, Flower Tucci and Lane went out partying at a bar during the Sex Expo that was held in New York recently.
“We were there until 4 o’clock in the morning,” said Angel. “Sunny is like I’ve got to go to sleep. Me and Flower stayed out until what time. We got back to the hotel in the morning. I was on the floor. She was on the bed.”
Wankus didn’t know Lane was a drinker, but Lane said she’s more of a smoker.
“I’m into reefer,” said Lane.
Asked about current projects, Angel said September was a big month for her.
“Cum on My Tattoo 2 just came out,” she added. “That was a movie I directed for my own production company. It’s fun because my production company is new. We only have two movies out. We also did Re-Penetrator.” Angel described her company as a little baby that was growing.
