Porn Valley- With KSEX scheduled to go on holiday hiatus this Friday, company Vice President Joe Brandi elected to go on air Wednesday night and tender his resignation.
Brandi called in several minutes after Lorrainiac had gone on air with her 6pm show. Lorrainiac, who’s also the program director, was puzzled because all she was told was that “the boss” was on the phone and wanted to speak to her.
When Brandi basically told her he quit, she wanted to know how. “You’re the boss.”
Without mentioning specifics, Brandi said he wasn’t getting into “a pissing contest” on air but it was pretty obvious that he had come to loggerheads with owner Jon Belinkie.
“It’s not a right fit and I have to move on,” said Brandi who was brought in shortly after station figurehead Wankus had been fired on air by Belinkie early in May of this year. Ironically, Belinkie also picked Lorrainiac’s show to make that announcement.
“The way things are shaping up, this is not for me- I’m just moving on,” continued Brandi his voice cracking with emotion. Lorrainiac’s response to what Brandi was saying is that she didn’t know things had been that bad.
At the same time, Brandi said he felt things were looking up for the company but that it was better off if he had made his decision now to leave.
“That’s where we are,” said Braindi. “I’m going to leave it at that and take the high road.”
It was plainly visible, but Lorrainiac told her audience that Brandi’s surprise announcement pretty much took the wind out of her sails.
“That’s the second time this year,” she said. “Why does it always happen to me?”
“Thanks for fucking up my Christmas,” she then told Brandi, at the same time telling him she loved him.
It’s been long suspected that Brandi and owner Belinkie had been fighting over philosophical and business issues. And the matter pretty much came to a head when KSEX lost a potentially lucrative UFC advertising accounting.
It’s also believed that Porno Dan, a Belinkie favorite, might play a significant role in the KSEX reorganization.
