PANAMA CITY – from www.newsherald.com -— Testimony was slated to begin late Tuesday morning in the “Girls Gone Wild” civil trial in federal court.
During opening arguments Tuesday morning, plaintiffs’ attorney Larry Selander told the jury what they can expect from witness testimony this week. He said expert witnesses would testify that teenage girls’ brains hadn’t developed fully, so they cannot always understand the consequences of their actions. He added that the plaintiffs will testify about the damages that have resulted from their exposure on the “Girls Gone Wild” films. The four women said they were filmed while underage.
Joe Francis, founder of “Girls Gone Wild,” countered that he hasn’t done anything wrong and that this case is all about money. His business may not be popular, he argued, but it’s legal and he has safeguards in place to ensure filming of underage girls doesn’t happen. He said he was targeted by “girls that lived the fast life in the fast lane.”
