TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Jurors hearing testimony on Wednesday against a man accused of a videotaped rape of his wife were shown the recording of the alleged attack, which occurred in January in a wooded area off of Interstate 95.
The video was shown to jurors on a television monitor in open court, but the monitor was tilted slightly out of view of those sitting in the courtroom. Jurors were taking notes, and a woman’s and man’s voices were audible.
A woman’s voice heard from the video said, “You don’t deserve this,” and “Please stop.” A man’s voice can be heard saying, “Shut up.”
Christopher Woods, 31, www.adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=23482 faces life in prison if convicted on single charges of kidnapping and aggravated battery and six counts of sexual battery by use of great force. He’s accused of luring his wife to Addison Canal to help lift a boat motor into a canoe. Once there, she claims he brutally attacked her in a scheme to make a pornographic video.
In opening statements, Woods’ defense attorney, Jeffrey Nuss, said the acts were consensual and part of an acted out rape scene the couple believed would garner money through pornographic video sales for the financially struggling couple, who had filed for bankruptcy in an effort to stave off foreclosure on their home.
The hearing is being held in the courtroom of Judge Charles Holcomb.
