[www.wptv.com]- WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Kayla Paige is an adult film star who dances at clubs across the country. She has two ways to make money and she’s still watching every penny.

“It’s bad for everybody,” says Paige. “There is not one person out there who isn’t suffering.”

Another woman who didn’t want to be identified is working at T’s lounge because she has an eight-year old daughter.

Her other job working in an accountant’s office actually pays her less money. This time last year, she would have cleared three-grand in a weekend. Now she says she’s lucky to make half that…

Still, that is big money for many women and more and more are taking off their clothes to pay the bills.

“There’s a lot more people coming in that never danced before. Moms, single moms, that never danced before because of the economy,” says the dancer.

Paige is lucky. She has a name in the business. With the internet however, competition is fierce and sometimes even free.

She sees more women who were once shy in front of a mirror, are not only dancing, but getting into a business they never considered.

“It’s a very over-saturated market. I think with the economy getting worse there’s a lot more women that want to come to a strip club and make money and it’s not easy to do,” Paige says.

Another club, Dream Girls, is set to open Friday in West Palm Beach. Their owners claim they have received more than a thousand applications for employment.

Sex has always been good business, especially in South Florida. These days however, it is much harder work.

These women say they still have their regulars, but their wallets are a little lighter.

“You’re depressed, come to a strip club. We’ll make you feel better!” laughs Paige.
