WWW- [NY Post] A financial feud between an indy film’s producer and its pornographer moneyman could sideline former Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst’s directing debut – if you don’t count his 2005 sex tape.

Kenneth Guarino, a mobbed-up Rhode Island porn magnate, said he sank $3 million into the making of the coming-of-age film “The Education of Charlie Banks,” only to find that no other investors were interested in the project, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court last month.

Although the producer, Marisa Polvino, assured Guarino that others would pitch in money to complete the movie, he found that not only was he the sole investor but also that the film was $2 million over budget, according to the suit.

Guarino also charges that Polvino, whose film credits include “The Door in the Floor” and “Outside Providence,” now has possession of the film and refuses to hand it over to the editor.

“The lawsuit is a baseless retaliation against Polvino,” said David Baum, her lawyer. He said Polvino had filed a suit in Rhode Island against Guarino for not paying her full producer fee.

“Instead of ponying up the money and owning up to his responsibility, he decided to hire a bunch of lawyers and sue,” said Baum.

The movie, which stars Jesse Eisenberg, who played the elder son in “The Squid and the Whale,” and the late actor John Ritter’s son, Jason, is stuck in postproduction purgatory until the suit has been resolved.
