posted on www.mikesouth.com – This tip came in today, and it for sure has the ring of truth to it.
Mike,
It may interest you to know that representatives of the L.A. County Board of Health have been going around in person to the actual residences of talent who have recently tested positive for STDs and have been asking them questions about what production companies they had been working for, what dates they worked for those companies and also where they think they may have been infected (i.e. which company’s set they think they may have contracted the STDs).
If the talent were less then cooperative, the representatives of the L.A. County Board of Health became aggressive in seeking the answers to these questions.
What is interesting about all this is that according to existing California laws, the talent on these sets are in fact employees of the production companies (not independent contractors) and, as such, the production companies may be held liable for the talent being infected with STDs!
On previous occasions government representatives have tried to collect this info directly from AIM and also several talent agencies directly, but to no avail. So, I guess they are now targeting the talent directly.
