from www.celebritynetworth.com – The life of a male porn star is a curious one. So it’s a little surreal to find out about one being involved in a run of the mill celebrity lawsuit, like porn actor Lexington Steele is now. The whole thing has to do with legal fees, which Steele’s (former, it should be noted) attorneys allege he has failed to pay since 2008.
In a lawsuit filed by the firm Wasserman, Comden, Casselman & Esensten, it is alleged that Steele alleged that Steele owes $85,213.68 for services rendered back in 2008. It’s not known why it took the law firm four years to finally file the lawsuit, but they’re also asking for interest accumulated over those four years, plus at least a thousand dollars in attorney’s fees.
It’s likely that the work Wasserman, Comden, Casselman & Esensten did for Steele in 2008 was related to the lawsuits filed between Steele and ex-fiance and fellow porn star Vanessa Blue. The lawsuits were over ownership of films the two appeared in together for the Mercenary Pictures adult film label. In March of 2009, the suit was settled out of court, but it’s possible that that amount of money in fees could have been racked up by then.
Steele is one of the most successful male porn actors in the industry, with a net worth of $4 million.
So it should be relatively easy to get his legal bill settled and taken care of. So why has the legal firm been unsuccessful in collecting their money? We don’t know, especially since Steele hasn’t responded publicly to the lawsuit as of yet. Whatever his explanation could be, it’s probably not going to take much of the sting out of now owing four years worth of interest on that more than 85 grand in legal fees. The lesson here – pay your bills on time, people! And maybe think about going into porn, those guys do pretty great.
