That’s the impression I got as I received a lesson today in trickle down hooker economics and how it affects the porn industry. I spoke to a Madam [12 years in the business] who told me about porn’s working girls and her business as a sexual liaison or booker. For the Madam, who’s being really honest about this, business officially hit the wall last October.

“My email box began dying in October,” she says.

The Madam I talked to, handles a lot of adult industry talent, and a lot of “civilians”. She tells me how she tries to explain the current facts of life to wannabe escorts who just don’t seem to get it.

“My top rated chicks maybe get one job every four months. That’s how slow it’s gotten.”

“Everyone’s just drowning and trying to figure what to do while they’re drowning.

“A lot of the clients are saying I’ve got to move, I lost my job. I used to be able to pre- book girls two months in advance for trips to New York. Girls used to make their $8,000 to $10,000 minimum. But that died in October. November, the same thing. December was the same way. Then the bottom totally fell out of the market in January of this year. No inquiries. Nothing. It’s very scary.
