Porn Valley- It was his first time ever on KSEX, and Mark Davis made his debut quite memorable when he visited The Wanker Show Friday night.
“Mark is one of the few people on the Tyler Faith okay to work with list,” Wankus laughed. “I approved that one. There’s a certain thing that most people don’t realize nowadays- it’s called respect. And a lot of people don’t have it for others- especially in this business when it comes to male talent working with females. There’s a lot of grabby, hands-y, hit-on asshole-y guys that go on set and work with the girls. They’re rude. It’s almost like their chance to score even though they’re going to score anyway. It’s like dude, you don’t have to hit on her, you’re going to fuck her.”
“We’re here to make the girls look good,” said Davis, underlining what Wankus had just said. And it was a comment which Faith quoted him on the other day on KSEX. Similarly, Wankus said Davis has shown him respect on the set by shaking his hand before he’s worked with Faith.
“He’ll give me that whole look, hey, I know I got to fuck your girl, but it’s business, you know what I mean?” said Wankus. “And I appreciate it, not to mention that you guys have a history of being good friends. And I know even in the beginning because of the lovely lady in your life Tyler didn’t want to work with you again because she respects her so much. There’s a lot of love in this room which is a reason why you’re a welcome addition to her sex list.”
Davis was asked if he had a “no” list.
“I don’t have a present no list but I had a couple back in the day,” Davis replied. “It’s girls I don’t work with any more. I’m not going to name them because they’re working around still.” Wankus wondered what kind of behavior would put a girl on a guy’s list.
“Hygiene can be a big one,” Davis answered immediately. He also said something about a girl having sharp teeth. Wankus asked if Davis ran into many big-name girls in the business who couldn’t suck good dick.
“Yes,” said Davis, indicating that he’d ward off a girl from doing it if needs be.
“Then they get bent out of shape,” he said. Wankus imagined a lot of the porn girl technique is for show with no clue.
“And there’s some girls you can’t teach,’ Davis added. Among his favorite things to do, said Davis is eating pussy. But, mostly, said Davis there’s a lot of girls who just don’t like their job which makes it harder for him to try and bring something out of them.
Wankus also offered Davis congratulations for taking one of the big awards at XRCO. Davis was inducted into the Hall of Fame. To which Davis said he’s now in his 14th year.
“And you look better than most of the young guys,” Faith told him.
“It’s harder to keep up with the young guys,” Davis admitted. “I’m twice their age. I’m doing my job- I aim to please.” Wankus wondered if a Hall of Fame acknowledgment is insulting in the sense that it’s telling you, you’re getting old. Davis said perhaps if he starts getting watches. But this is the second Hall of Fame award he’s received.
“It’s a big compliment,” said Davis especially since the XRCO is the film critics awards. “That’s kind of a big one. It’s not like it’s bought or paid for- I’m not going to mention any names.” Noting that he was the last of the newer guys in esteemed XRCO company, Davis said at least these awards aren’t political.
“Even John Holmes is on this list- there aren’t that many guys on it, it’s pretty cool.”
Davis also has a few AVN awards to his credit.
“I got the Hall of Fame for AVN about three years ago,” he added. “It was kind of cool even though I didn’t get to go up and accept it which I thought was bullshit. They just read names and the awards were on a table in the back.”
Davis said they’ll hand out an award for blowjob scene with people going up their with acceptance speeches for getting their dick sucked but he couldn’t go up there and say thank you for 14 years in the business. Along with him that year, Davis said there was T.T. Boy and Tony Tedeschi- guys who are pretty outspoken.
“Yeah put them in the back,” said Wankus. “T.T. Boy, yeah, fuck that.”
Davis began working as a Chippendale. “Back in the day.”
“Did you know that Corey Jordan was a Chippendale?” asked Faith apparently in an attempt to stir up some shit.”He hung out outside,” she added. Wankus told her she couldn’t just throw out a comment like that without explaining herself.
“Corey Jordan has told everybody his whole life that he worked at Chippendale’s,” added Faith. “I knew Mark worked at Chippendale’s. I’m like Mark, did Corey Jordan every work at Chippendale’s? He’s like he hung out outside.” Davis said he was in it four and half years and saw a lot of guys come and go. After the show they would let the public in and he’d come hang out at the bar, I guess. I never saw him dancing there. Unless there was a period there where he was there and I wasn’t there- that’s pretty much the story on that one.” Wankus said he had a Jordan story as well.
“Corey always says he did something whatever the person he was talking to, did,” said Wankus. “When I was talking to him once he said hey Wankus, you’re really good at that improv-stuff. He saw me at karaoke. Yeah, I used to be in improv. I did a whole thing with improv. Then I heard him talk to someone else- yeah, I used to do construction. Everything that somebody did, he did.”
Davis agreed that Jordan probably morphs into someone else’s reality. When Davis was dancing back in 1984, he said a lot of girls from porn used to come in.
“I’d say I could do that, I can do a better job that that- here I am,” said Davis. Accordingly, Wankus said you’ll hear other guys say that as well until they get in front of a camera.
Davis said it’s a matter of being consistent day in and day out and being able to cum on cue after putting in three hours on a set.
“It’s a tough job but I like that.” Davis remembered the first girl he ever worked with as well as the set and the time.
“I was right at home- I found my niche.” But When Wankus asked who the girl was, Davis drew a blank and said he’s been in 5,000 movies.
“I’ve got no clue.” However Davis said he wasn’t nervous when he did that scene.
“Did you get fucked up a little beforehand to get in the zone?” Wankus asked him. Davis said no.
“I was right at home,” Davis added and Wankus assumed that it was back in the days when Davis had hair and pointed fans to Davis’ page on www.myspace.com/markdavissxxx.
“He’s got some pictures with hair where he looks like somebody from CHIPS,” Wankus laughed.
“Or Davis Hasselhoff,” Davis added. Asked if he was ever under contract, Davis said he had a directing gig for awhile with Zero Tolerance.
“I helped them get going in the very beginning but nothing exclusive,” said Davis. “Nobody wanted to pay me the bucks to go that route. I’d rather be freelance and work with whoever and not be limited.” Wankus wondered if Davis ran into any instances that made him contemplate finding another line of work.
“There’s a couple of girls that I worked with that made me think that,” Davis commented. “I’m not going to name any names. But nothing comes to mind.” On the love front, Wankus also wondered if Davis found it hard finding someone he could relate to.
“I never had a problem with that- as we call them, civilians,” Davis commented. “I’ve dated people outside of this business. And I’ve dated girls in the business. I’ve never had a problem with it. I’d just tell ’em straight up. I’m not going to lie or bullshit with them. I don’t lie about what I’m doing. I’ve see guys in the business at a club: dude, don’t tell this girl what I’m doing. You’re going to get found out. I tell them straight- up. It’s respect.”
Wankus assumed those were one-night stand situations but wondered whether Davis ever maintained a relationship on the outside.
In the business, Davis had a relationship with Kobe Tai for almost four years. Asked what happened with that, Davis said he has no clue but has since moved on to have a lovely wife, Kitten. Meanwhile Faith said she like Kobe Tai in the movies back in the day.
“She was awesome.” Regarding Kitten, Faith said she’d like to do her first interracial- either with her, or O.J.
“She [Faith] wants to do an interracial with O.J. Simpson,” Wankus announced. Wankus figured if the money was right, O.J. would probably do it.
“That would be great for Team Tyler. We’d call it Mack The Knife.”
Davis was then asked what he thought of the freshman class of porn
“Tyler and I call it the XBox age because they have the baby fat,” said Wankus. Davis said it was kind of creepy because girls are coming in at the age of 18 doing stuff of girls twice their age but not doing it well at all. On the other hand, Wankus said there are older guys in the business who prefer the young, fresh meat. Davis conceded that the viewers want to see the young girls but thinks the talent pool is oversaturated.
“There are features that cater to that look,” he said.
“Caters to the ugly look,” Wankus ventured to say. “Not the girl next door but the dog next door. I don’t mean to be rude but there are a lot of fucking ugly girls that are making it.”
Faith also added the point that just because some of the girls can stick an umbrella up their ass, doesn’t make them a porn star. Contradicting what Dick Nasty had to say the other week, Wankus said these girls are porn performers and not porn stars. To become a star, said Wankus is about the marketing behind you and all the decisions you make in your career. Faith was also of the opinion that girls in the business aren’t allowed to say no to various propositions that might seem abhorrent. Davis said it also depends who’s behind them and pushing them in certain directions.
“They don’t know- they’re already misled and they think it’s about the money,” said Davis.
“They could get popular in a twisted niche,” Wankus added.
“They’ll be popular but they’ll be shot-out,” added Faith who pointed out that Davis has an easy going reputation in anal circles. Davis said he enjoys doing it and tends to be patient.
“I’m like if this ain’t going in, it ain’t going in,” Davis philosophized. “So you have to make your partner feel relaxed and that you’re not going to shove it in. I worked with a girl way back and she didn’t want to do anal. I said why not. She goes my boyfriend at the time told me that when I’m ready to cum, let me know and I’ll shove it in your ass. That’s the worst time you want to do it. She was just traumatized. Now she’s taking Mandingo up the ass. I guess she got over that one real quick. You’ve got to make them feel comfortable and that they’re something special.”Wankus wondered if the same held true the last time Davis worked with Faith by sticking a finger in her ass unannounced.
“I did?” Davis said sounding puzzled. Wankus said he heard the story.
“You didn’t say stop,” Davis told Faith. “I was just testing the waters.” Wankus then asked Davis his opinion of industry testing for diseases.
“It’s better than it’s ever been,” stated Davis. “Back in the day we used to get tested every six months. It was an ELIZA test. But DNA testing basically back tracks like a week to the last partner. But I think, personally, the STD testing could be done more.”
Wankus said the problem is with people who hang out at the clubs, partying.
“Do you think they should test for more than what they test for?” asked Wankus. “I know it will knock a lot of people out but at the same time you could have a network. Why not have a herpes network?” Davis said he totally agreed with that thinking and Wankus said he wasn’t mocking people with herpes because one in four get it.
“I think the testing can definitely be more stricter,” conceded Davis.
Wankus said he heard Davis also had a website devoted to his penis. Davis seemed mildly surprised by that information and said he didn’t have a site like that.
“But I’d like to check it out,” he laughed. “I haven’t got my own website up yet.”
Wankus was also trying to get Jill Kelly on the phone, and Faith said Kelly was moving into her new office; and with KSEX moving, they’ll be close by.
Asked if his workload was staying consistent, Davis says it has been and it amazes him considering that he’s been around this long.
“I work for not as many companies as I did before- just a select few, but they got me more locked in,” he said. “I like to keep busy.” With Davis being from England, Wankus asked if he still keeps in touch with his family.
“My parents are split up,” he said. “We emigrated to Canada from England in ’81. I lived three years in Toronto then came out to LA to shoot Playgirl. Then I went back. They’re still in Toronto, but they know what I do.” Davis said his mother figured out what he does, that he didn’t have to tell her. Davis remembered how on a flight he was chewing his nails about the prospect of opening up to his mother.
“I get off the plane- we’re in the car- we have a two hour drive,” said Davis. “I’m talking to her. She’s like how was the modeling. I said mom I have to be honest with you- I haven’t been doing modeling. She goes, oh, have you been doing porn?” Davis said his jaw dropped, like, what the fuck?
“She goes I know you- you’re my son; not to mention the rest of the trip she’s asking me questions about it.” Wankus suspected that’s because Europeans are less rigid about it. Asked if he gets recognized, Davis said until he shaved his head about six years ago he couldn’t go anywhere.
“It’s a little bit less but it’s catching on again,” he said. “But I can be pretty much anywhere from the bank to the airport and I get recognized. It’s pretty trippy. It’s a compliment. I like it.” Wankus also wondered if Davis had a gay following. Davis says he has a huge gay following.
“I’m complimented either way, I don’t knock it,” he said. “They’re just as big fans as the females. To each their own. If they want to get off on it, hey.” Faith said she’ll get questions about Davis and Lee Stone all the time from male fans and friends.
“Like what are they like? Are they really cool? Yeah, they’re really cool. You two are the guys that guys at home always ask me about.”
Wankus told a story about how he and Steven St. Croix went out one night together. Davis thought that idea alone was pretty scary.
“We had this conversation one night about how the average person out there really doesn’t know who the fuck porn people are,” said Wankus. “You walk up to any guy in the bar and say name three porn people. This is what he’s going to say: maybe Jenna, maybe Ron and maybe Ginger. That’s pretty much it. Most are going to name Ron Jeremy. You’re going to get a few Traci Lords and a few Amber Lynns.” According to Wankus, St. Croix was convinced that everyone knows who he is.
“I walked him around the bar; I go you know who this guy is? No.” Wankus said St. Croix left pissed off. Davis said he could see St. Croix doing that. Otherwise, Faith said it’s so hard doing a movie with St. Croix because he’ll constantly have you cracking up. Wankus said when St. Croix was hired to do Unfaithful Secrets he was issued a no horsing around edict. Because St. Croix was playing a part of a deejay he was told he could talk for the scene but not waste time before the scene.
“But he is a good guy,” said Wankus. “And a lot of people do know who he is; I’m not putting him down. But the reality is, a lot of people don’t know who the fuck he is.” Wankus said the same holds true for Faith.
“It’s not an insult to her- the average porn guy puts his porn in a fuckin’ sock drawer. He doesn’t buy his porn for somebody’s name.” At the same time, Wankus admitted that there are some pretty crazy freaks out there who have this consummate porn knowledge at their finger tips.
“They know us by just looking at the dick,” said Davis. For her part, Faith said she would rather be rich than famous any day.
“I don’t need that type of attention.”
Asked if there was anyone in the business that he’s had disputes with Davis said no.
“Not that I know of but I’m sure they’ve had some with me,” he said. “I have no beef with no one.” But Davis did say that a lot of people have a tendency to talk shit behind your back and slander names around. Wankus asked Davis if there were any off camera fucks that he could brag about. Davis said he had Jenna Jameson when she was 18.
“Before Beverly Hills,” Wankus laughed. Asked if that relationship could have gone somewhere, Davis said they were playing around; then he stayed in Europe for an extra month or two to do movies then she hooked up with Brad Armstrong.
“Then he did her drapes,” suggested Wankus.
“And then some,” Davis added. “He totally accessorized her house. They were dating- damn your quick, dude.” Davis said he never read her book, however.
“She didn’t mention my name in it,” he said. Wankus said he heard there was a lot of BS in the book.
“I’m sure everyone exaggerates in their books to a certain agree.” Wankus said he’s never seen a book from male talent and Davis said he’s been asked about it.
“I’ve had people ask me about a how-to book,” said Davis, noting that he’s heard the book comments often by crew guys. Wankus then brought up the fact that Davis was known as the party guy.
“Years ago you were known as Joe fuckin party,” Wankus said. “It was also known where you were very cocaine-friendly. You would cocaine all night long and go to a set nine in the morning and still have no wood issues, and get your job done and get out.”
Davis said he’d do two scenes like that in that condition.
“I’d go back and do it again,” said Davis. “That was my downfall- because I could, I did.” Davis says there’s a good portion of his 5,000 scenes that he doesn’t remember.
“I’m not proud of it but I had a really great time.” Besides that, added Wankus, Davis would party all night and pop on several occasions then go do a scene in the morning.
“How can you do that?”
“That’s why I found my niche in life,” Davis laughed. “What’s creepy is that I’m still hungry like that. I’m 40 years old.” Davis also suspected he’s making up for lost time because of his late start in porn.
“But that’s a good thing because I think if I was younger, I probably wouldn’t be here today.”
Wankus said he could never get wood on cocaine and Davis said you could give him Xanax and he could fuck. Wankus noted that Davis was over his house the other week, got drunk and took an hour to find his car which was parked right in front of Wankus’ house.
